What I heard was we don’t want to spend £5 mill or whatever for a lad who was gonna play reserve football for 6 months firsts Yeah they tried pitching that to justify not putting in work to establish who was the acting agent. The lad was hot cake and as usual we rather pay £100 million than £4-£8 million. Sad. Woodward has plenty to answer for We was linked with ensico as well for about 8mil think it was a record deal over there, but just didn't want to take the chance for what ever reason. |

As usual we like to overpay Our scouts are simply pathetic It’s not the scouts. One is an acquaintance of mine. They were never listened to. Erik has changed that. He has a profile and around 150 players have been earmarked. Lest we forget these are the same scouts that found Garnacho and a few others in the setup that we have very high hopes for. |

Based on today, that’s a bullet dodged. I do rate that Alcaraz at Southampton though, and the kid who scored for Italy against England the other month. |

Spending silly sums is not the answer all the time. We will not always get it right but there are some deals so low for teenagers that we simply won’t lose money, especially if we coach right and give them a chance. I hope as you say ETH listens and acts |

Oh totally he might never end up at the top level, but it's more the point of deals at that price you can't really lose, even if they don't make it you can sell them in Europe and probably make a few quid on them too. |
