I was listening to a podcast with Jim O'Neill being interviewed by Bloomberg. He was saying the price the Glazers are looking for doesn't make any sense, unless it's the intention of buyers is more philanthropic in nature or the Qatar bid has other reasons and or they have some new model to justify it. He was also saying that there are only 2 bidders and that all the other interest is BS. That the Glazers have been pumping the price through sports media and that the process has gone on way too long! With way too much publicity, which is very odd for a public listed company! He reckoned the NYSE should be looking into it. That podcast was recorded 6 weeks ago and there is still is no agreement. They are still fucking this club up and getting away with it! What they're looking for the club is crazy. Basically want a 6x return on something they never bought in the first place. I may be wrong but I think they only put in $100m of their *own* money so the return to them is way, way higher than 6x, about 59x!

You know we’re fucked when Moyes is feeling sorry for us He's been lying in bed at night for ten years dreaming of saying that.

Everton now beaing Brighton 3-0 at the Amex. We couldn't seriously lay a glove on them in 120 minutes, nor again in the following 90. Depressing.

We've scored only 3 goals in our last 6 games against average or shite! We've also made what half a dozen bizarre mistakes in defense, directly resulting in goals! They are mentally nowhere near good enough at this level! This is where I cut EtH some slack, we are so skinny on goals we have to keep clean sheets, which makes the last couple of games so infuriating as it is just unfathomable what has gone on.

Also don't understand this goal kick routine we seem to have of having 2 defenders in the 6 yard box just to pass it to De Gea. It's counter productive bullshit. Bin it. It's intended to disguise which side of the pitch the ball may be played to.

I had thought he was referring to his aerial ability in defence Considering that we were essentially playing with 3 fullbacks in defence it might have made some sense. Potentially the worst United player since Bebe. Bebe scored a goal for our reserves against Blackburn or someone that Weghorst couldn’t even dream of. It was Wigan.

Our current form is understandable....
The amount of games we've had to play in a short space of time with the bench we have was always going to hit us towards the end.
It's still been a very good season by our recent standards, which couldn't get any lower than last season tbf. Get top 4 sealed up blocking the champions league for Liverpool and maybe another trophy stopping the inconceivable City treble?
I'd say that would make it a fantastic season.
On that note, what would you guys prefer happen? Top 4 or Fa Cup win? Both are realistic tbh but if you could hurt one team which would it be?

'Ruining' other clubs' seasons/achievements don't impact on how good or bad our season is. We are not small time. (Maybe you have just worded this badly?) The only answer is win the fucking trophy. Anyone who says otherwise should give up football.

Calling it a fantastic season because we "hurt" one of our rivals is a very small team mentality.
It hasn't been a good season at all unless by recent standards you are referring to last season which was a bit of a blip because players downed tools, Bruno and Rashford were out of form, and Ronaldo's arrivals disrupted Ole's limited but often effective tactics. We shouldn't be struggling to finish in the top 4 especially when clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are having bad seasons. It was embarrassing getting knocked out of the Europa League by Sevilla. The Carabao Cup win was a highlight but we had a very easy run to the final and we were fortunate that the final was early in the season when we were enjoying a run of good form. If we fail to make top 4 that will be a major setback and represent the first time since 2017 that we finished outside the top 4 two seasons in a row. And there are no trophies for runners-up so to compensate for failure to finish top 4 we'd need to win the FA Cup final which is hard to imagine based on current form.
And I get a bit annoyed at all the excuses we are making for Erik. The bench we have is made up of players who started in previous seasons. The striker situation is partly of his own making. Players he signed such as Antony and Malacia look far too raw and he isn't getting enough use out of Sabitzer while he is being far too stubborn in persisting with Wout. And while he has achieved some great results when we are pretty much at full strength that only takes you so far especially in a competitive league like the Premier League and he seems to lack the flexibility and pragmatism required to get consistently results when we are below full strength.
I'd say if we fail to finish top 4 and lose the FA Cup final it would be a poor season but winning the Carabao Cup and getting some good results in the big games buys Erik some time to continue with the rebuild.
Winning a domestic cup double even if we fail to finish top 4 would be a good season because top 4 is more of a Glazer objective and we've been starved of trophies in recent years and while it would be inconvenient not qualifying for Champions League and make the rebuild more difficult it still represents a major achievement.
And if all we manage is top 4 and Carabao Cup I'd say that is basically just fulfilling the minimum expectations of a Manchester United manager but would represent progress from the Ole years given he failed to win anything.

To be fair I don't think anybody can say it's been a fantastic season because it hasnt. But it hasnt been as bad as some have made it out to be either. There have been improvements in some areas and not so much in others. We have progressed from last season which is what we expected to see happen (obviously providing we finish in a top 4 place). Think some people are expecting too much too soon with this spineless squad. Fatigue has been a factor for some of these players, as have ill timed injuries to big players. But you can only make excuses for so long. Poor decision making and finishing isn't down to fatigue it's down to attitude, something some of these players have proved time and time again is weak as piss. Since the cup final Ten Hag's in game management has been a mess aswell, not all on him given the options hes got to choose from but imo he needs to trust in youth a bit more if the experienced players aren't cutting it.

Question is how much of the “progress” from last season can be attributed to A) Casemiro’s arrival B) Rashford recovering from the injuries that dogged him last season C) Martinez and Varane replacing Maguire and lindelof as our first choice centre back pairing D) the new manager bounce (we had a very good run of form when ole took over after a horrible start to the season and that was without any new signings)

World class midfielder arrived- check Winger plagued by injury stops getting injured - check A CB pairing without Maguire in it - check A manager who has a clue - check Yes I wonder why we’ve done better than last season…
