Sevilla, Lyon and Freiburg are interested in signing Manchester United's 20-year-old Hannibal Mejbri on loan in January. loan with an option to sell. I like the kid and he puts a good shift in but I don’t think he will ever reach the level needed for a top club.

Not my choice but if it were, Sancho, Antony, MCT, Maguire, Casemiro, Eriksen and Martial would all be sold in January. Incoming Cb, striker and DMx2.
That would be my dream January market. Come summer, another CB, RB and assess the winger situation. Further departures would be in defence, likely Varane and one of the rb’s.

He had a lot to offer technically when we bought him, just hope we ain’t done a Mikel on him

Erik making excuses saying no manager would have coped with an injury list like ours and the return of Mason, Casemiro, Lisandro, Malacia and Maguire will be like 5 or 6 new signings.

Triggered the 1-year extension for Lindelof. Haven't triggered for Varane. Apparently we might try to negotiate an extension (on lower wages). Feels like a repeat of the same mistake we made with Dave. I get that Varane is on huge wages and is often injured. But all our centre backs besides Maguire are injury prone and Varane is still our best centre back. And now we will need to buy a replacement in the summer and still end up with Maguire and Lindelof as our backup options.
And even if we triggered the extension Varane is still sufficiently highly rated that we could sell him for a decent price in the summer rather than losing him on a free.

I was saying literally same thing in the glazernomics thread ! He is a big name so even if no one is interested in Europe there is a good chance one of the Saudi clubs come in and pay good money for him.

Giving him an extended deal even just for one year is just a continuation of the shit year after year, let them go when the deal is up, actually show a message that we are changing and means business. Looks like it's going to be pretty much business as usual going forward.

Agree with the clubs stance on Varane, sign a new contract on reduced wages or leave. He's looked a shadow of the player we all thought we were getting other than in flashes, and has had constant injury issues. Happy for him to stay but if he wants the same money then let him go and get him off the wage bill.
Lindelof, I'm on the fence with but in all honesty not massively against him staying. If Varane does go, we all hope Maguire follows him, that leaves just Lindelof, a 37 year old (next season) Evans and an unknown quantity in Kambwala as back ups (Shaw too but how often is he injured too, something like 250 games in 10 years at United?). We can't ship out every defender, get a quality CB in to play alongside Martinez and Lindelof is back up.

Bit harsh on Varane. He played over 30 games last season. This season he's played half our games and would have played more if Erik hadn't given Maguire a run in the side. He's avoided long term injuries that have dogged Martinez since he joined us and Shaw since forever.
Last season he was one of our best players forming a strong centre back partnership with Martinez. This season it would be hard for any centre back to perform with all the chopping and changing and the total lack of protection from midfield. But he's had some good games most notably against Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

But he's had some good games most notably against Liverpool and Bayern Munich. Not good enough for a first choice CB. We played more games than any other club last season I think. We need someone where more than thirty games isn’t an achievement. I actually like Varane, think he’s still a good player. But we need someone quality who is fit more or less all the time. Also, I wouldn’t say Martinez has been dogged by injury. He played about 45 games last season which I dare say is more than Varane has managed in a single season in his whole career.
