He got the summer transfers completely wrong. We needed 2 strikers. Instead we go into another season with Martial and Rashford. The goalkeeper was an issue that shouldn’t have been. 58 goals scored in the PL last season. We’ve basically made Rashford the star man . Massive problem right away. No doubt I expect he’ll go the same way as Martial but will get cut more slack for it. I must have imagined the signing of Hojlund. That’s 1 striker. As I said he needed 2.

I don’t want to be too pessimistic, but each passing game Casemiro is increasingly following the Matic arc (brilliant first season, dreadful after). Early days, but worrying signs.

For anyone like myself who ain't seen any of the game yet... First time I’ve seen their third goal. I honestly couldn’t give a shit how good Onana supposedly is with his feet if he’s gonna let goals like that in. Dave would’ve saved and held on to that!

That Brighton team yesterday cost all of 18.2 million apparently. Yeah, they had no Ferguson for the majority of the game and incredible made 6 changes from the Newcastle win. They came from nowhere, because the have a very smart owner, who really cares about the club and the City. It's the same with City, although different operating method and level. They have owners who are intent on making the club as great as they can. I've given up on on wasting time on individual performances and coaches. It's all down to the chaotic management of the club from the top

Early days, but worrying signs. 60m + 4-year contract worth another 60m. That's an awful lot of money, and a contract that will probably undermine our next manager "rebuilding" process. Roughly the same goes for Varane. 2026. Madness.

I don’t want to be too pessimistic, but each passing game Casemiro is increasingly following the Matic arc (brilliant first season, dreadful after). Early days, but worrying signs. He gets asked to do too much and yes he's waning. When he was at his peak he had Modric and Kroos next to him and Varane and Ramos peak behind him. It's too much and the Mount thing was a mistake instead of buying two proper mids. Amrabat will help and hopefully Mount when he's back legs wise, but it's hardly going to be a world class mid. McT should have been dumped too. Also when commentators are blaming Casemiro, just look at some of the jogging and positioning of McT(he's never been a CM at this level) and Eriksen doesn't have the legs. There's also a couple of times watching Rashford jog about pretending to press, when he could have made a difference. Centre backs are bang average too and Varane isn't fit enough as usual. Remember Real are re-building for another period of winning with Camavinga, Thcouemani and Bellingham and Mbappe, while they are cashing in on the Varanes and Casemiros etc. It's not just about money or the coach. It's about poor planning and management at the top and the mediocrity running recruitment and the direction of the club etc. It will get better this season, with players back and the new ones finally getting game time, but it will be another top 4/5 push and it's about all you could really ask for with what we have.

He’s the next scapegoat. McTominay started yesterday, he should have been binned last summer. Obviously playing well for Scotland is our standard now.

There's not much point in having a Rolls Royce, if it's in the garage constantly getting fixed.

It’s this perpetual mindset that has us going nowhere. It’s basically the Scouse next year will be our year talk.

I watched a bit of Celtic last season. I was a bit sceptical of an Aussie coach but I was impressed with the type of football they played; it was better than the calibre of player they had, if that makes sense. In a matter of months, Ange has been able to implement his tactics and style at Spurs, or least be well on the way to. Now, when you hear about Ten Hag, it sounds like he took a few months in Ajax to get them playing his way (there were rumours he’d be fired at one point I recall but they turned it around.) and by seasons end had a distinctive style. So why do we think he’s been unable to do that at Utd?
This guy was on the shortlist of both Bayern and City because he’s a brilliant manager and I did say that if he can’t turn Utd around, no one can. It looks sadly like ‘no one’ is going to be the winner here.

Reguillon, who can't get in the Spurs team looked really good and so comfortable on the ball. We have so many players so overpaid and over hyped who are literally shit.

The successive rebuilds don’t work because we buy expensive young flops (Pogba, Sancho, Antony ), and short term fixes with limited shelf life (zlatan, matic, Casemiro, varane, Eriksen).
We should be buying young modestly priced and hungry and getting Erik to use his coaching ability to develop these kind of players into stars. It’s not easy because we get ripped off for young talent but it is the only way to go absent qatari billions.

The team look like they lack stamina and mental strength, looked good for 20 mins then faded it happens a lot.
