I don't want to see Onana in goal for a while.... both of those were school yard. Absolutely embarrassing to say he is our start GK.
Our midfield is a gapping hole of talentless hacks that will continue to plague us. Amrabat needs his loan canceled in January. Mainoo looks so good but he cant do it all by himself. Antony put in a really good performance but nothing to give me confidence he could continue that. Garnacho needs more fitness, but needs to be starting. IDK what Varane did to piss off ETH but we can't keep on with the chucklebrothers in the middle

Copenhagen draw with Bayern so yeah we are basically out. We need to beat Bayern and the other needs to be a draw.
The humiliation is real. Pathetic. Not even Europa, though I’m glad to be fair. Hanging on tonight would have put us 2nd. Can’t take much more of this.

Onana is quite the enigma. Top drawer in the PL, the less said the better in CL.

That guarantees at least a Europa spot, so prolongs the shiteness, unfortunately

So depressing. Onana has played well in recent weeks for sure; but that's a good 5 or 6 goals he has been directly responsible for and that any decent 'keeper should save. De Gea was doing that in a season in recent years and we hammered him as not good enough, and were right to do so, as a top 'keeper makes 1 or 2 goal coasting errors a season. Onana is on for about 15 this year if he keeps this up. That is League 1 level goalkeeping, and having Maguire and Lindelof in front of you is not an excuse. Every single opposition this season should have scored a minimum of 3 goals, every last one of them. Some good saves by Onana but also rank bad finishing and good luck has helped United out. Not once have I gotten through a game and looked back thinking "Easy, they never had a real chance all game". It's been "Got the win but fuck me they missed a couple of sitters there, on another day we're punished". Only positive is the young players, Mainoo at 18, Garnacho 19, Hojlund 20, they point to a positive future. Everything else just makes you want to weep. Still believe ETH deserves the season and a proper structure behind him to see what he can do, but he's really testing the faith now to be honest. And the whole takeover is just making it even more depressing. Been weeks on end now it was going to be "this week" it was sorted and absolutely nothing happening. Fuck it all. I think serious football people would ditch ETH at this rate. We are so bad defensively, I can't understand how he can't find a better way forward. He's playing Scotty so high up, that it leaves acres of space that Superman couldn't cover. If you look at Newcastle, they're well drilled and you can see what they're doing. Our players just do what they want. It's very obvious.

It's very obvious. he would have been out the door after the Liverpool 0-7 and even putting that to one side he has spent near 400 million and his signings have been mostly shit and in game management being even worse. I think the takeover stuff has probably kept him in a job for this season but he has got to be on thin ice.

In fairness to him, he was given 1 main objective last season, and 1 minor one.
The main one was top 4 and Champions League football, and that came from the owners. The minor one, more from the fans, was a trophy won.
He did both of those things. People can argue about the football, the fact Liverpool and Chelsea were so poor helping out, etc. But that's moving the chairs around. He did what he was asked to do. So based on that alone I stand by the fact he deserves a full 2nd season.
And I get that he's dealing with a lot of shit again this year. Maguire refusing to leave, Sancho being a twat, Antony being a "comment redacted on legal advice", Rashford returning straight back to Rashford after his good 4 months, a fuck load of injuries, Casemiro falling off a cliff.
But even factoring that in, it was he who demanded Mount. Demanded Onana. Made the situation with Maguire one that he could stay and play, rather than forcing the move, and the overall style of play just being so weirdly shit.
He really is on thin ice, and this month could spell the end, because defending like this is going to lead to some absolute thrashings and that can't just keep happening.

Good performances this season (that I can remember) Palace in the Cup? Decent performances this season...Last weekend? The Everton game was only decent because they couldn't take their chances. The Garnacho goal as class as it was smoke screened everything else.

Also McTominay and any other player that comes out with the same shit after the game can fuck off aswell.
'We're a team and we'll learn from tonight". No you're not and no you won't, fuck off.

Yeah its safe to say Onana is a mistake and a big one. GK is one position where people wont tolerate any screw ups. Onana is 27 with enough experience at top level , its just not acceptable. But iam surprised in a way because he was looking fantastic with Inter in the CL. Whatever be the case we need better.
Pep replaced Joe Hart with Claudio Bravo , when he didnt work out they sold him and bought Ederson , but i think that kind of pro activeness will be bit too much to expect from our owners.

I didn’t think Amrabat was that bad tonight. When he came off we looked a lot more vulnerable.
Where Erik is getting it very wrong this season is whoever is tasked with anchoring our midfield is getting exposed. It didn’t happen so much last season because Casemiro was playing at a very high level. But his level has dropped off and it’s on Erik to find a workaround especially when the midfielders he signed this summer have made little impact. And playing Scotty because he is scoring goals isn’t the answer because the rest of his game sucks. Bruno isn’t much help either. He plays because he creates chances and scores goals but we need a double pivot behind him with mainoo and amrabat perhaps the best option unless Casemiro can roll back the years when he returns from injury.

If we are leading 1-3 , what we need is more control and defensive solidity , why did ETH bring Martial. That makes no sense.
Onana needs to be on bench for a few games now and sooner we can go back to Varane-Martinez CB pairing with Casemiro ahead of them the better.

Doesn't make sense to bring Martial on at any point regardless of the score. He needs to be sold asap. Another player I'm fed up of seeing in a United shirt. This season the substitutions have been mind boggling, whether its the choices or the timing. Nearly every week there's been at least one that's been questionable. All well and good owning the mistakes but at least fucking learn from them.
