Can't argue with any of that. Add dalot, awb, martial and VDB to the list above. we’ve held on to shite for years and years. diabolical really, city get rid of players like that for tens of millions. The only pass AWB gets from me is that he can actually defend, he just plays the game in a different era and we paid £35 million more than he is worth but once gain it comes back to us and lack of negotiating skills. We are so scared to walk away from deals

Will Onana get dropped? I very much doubt it this is where Eth is stupidly stubborn and will cost him his job eventually.

He will have to get dropped at some point as the other keeper, whose name I can’t spell, needs game time before the AFCON.

Issues are pretty clear:
We are leaving our midfield anchorman exposed by encouraging Scotty to get forward to score goals and Bruno has never really convinced as a number 8. He will do little all game and then provide some assists and goals and that is fine for a number 10. But it means you need two midfielders behind him who will sit. Last season Erik got away with it most of the time because Casemiro was so amazing as a number 6. But no one is anywhere close to that level this season. All we can do is play Amrabat and hope he comes good and we should be playing Mainoo not Scotty alongside him. Save Scotty as an impact sub.
We aren't creating good chances for Hojlund. And all the target men before him also struggled to score....Wout and also CR7. Erik likes to use target men but surely he understands they need proper service. We can't keep relying on midfielders for goals.
Onana is dodgy but little we can do about it until SJR is on board and we can think about cutting our losses and buying a replacement that SJR's team rather than Erik picks. But if our defence and midfield were better drilled Onana would get more protection that he is getting. Even in the Premier League where his performances are improving he is having to make far more saves than he'd expect to at a top club.
And coaching and tactics are supposed to be the areas Erik excels at. I am seeing little evidence of it. The poor recruitment is partly on Murtough and Fletcher for giving Erik too much say over transfers. That is something that can be improved if Erik agrees to cede control over transfers to SJR's team. And if he doesn't he will be out of the door so hopefully he eats humble pie and accepts the help he will get.

He's no idea how to use the players he bought himself...but he must've had some kind of plan when he wanted them, it could be a whole lot worse when he's given players by someone else. He's a stubborn prick, take Donny back to being a wonderkid and be the legend that makes Ajax great again

Ten Hag is tactically naive and cannot set up a team to hold its own and stand its ground. It isn't going to get better. Only Kompany amongst current managers in the division would set a team up so porously.

The players are as much to blame as Eth if not more, they are out on the pitch, if they can't pull together for 45 minutes with a 2 goal load they all need to be fucked off, these are professional footballers all top internationals they should be able to see out a game themselves. But it's the same thing half of these have seen of 3 or 4 managers until those players have actually gone nothing will change, prime fergie wouldn't be able to get a tune out of half of these wankers.

“It’s always me. I am responsible for this. We know we are in a project. We are making improvements so that’s very hopeful. We are going in the right direction so I know we will be successful in the long term but if you want to stay in the Champions League you need to win these games.” ETH
How is this any different from Ole banging on about progress?

Martial lindelof mctommers Shaw rashford Maguire ect are still all here and still playing week in week out, what they are saying is probably no different at all the fact they still have the same shit players here and having to play them isn't helping

At least we have scored 6 goals in the last two games and created a lot. That's been an issue too, so hopefully that's the beginning of better form for the forwards
