It is a little worrying if the best that Liverpool think they can do is Slot when you consider that they are guaranteed Champions League football next season, and over the last 5 years have won the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and the League Cup twice. But I am not sure I can face another season of Erik. The tactics, the man management, the game management, the substitution, the recruitment....he is failing in every single one of those areas. So even if recruitment improves under INEOS the other areas will continue to be issues. I'd rather have a fresh new shit manager and some false hope rather than no hope.

Amorim and Motta are probably both attainable. Amorim has already interviewed with West Ham and Liverpool. Motta might want to stay a little longer in Italy but we could make him an offer he would find difficult to refuse.
And a young promising manager is probably the way to go. Just because things didn't work with Erik doesn't mean we have to go for a veteran manager like Tuchel/Conte. And it will take probably 3-5 years to build a squad that can challenge for trophies so plenty of time for someone young and ambitious to grow into the role.
With the benefit of hindsight Erik was probably too stubborn and set in his ways for this challenge. He quickly figured out he couldn't play the way he did at Ajax with the squad at his disposal and seems to lack the tactical flexibility to come up with any alternative so we haven't developed any kind of identity and continue to just rely on a few key players showing up and making a difference.

I am all for a young coach but will these prick headed players that have driven out coach after coach not do the same thing to him? Veteran manager that has coached at a big club before could serve well to get this squad in line.... hell idk anymore lol

Let’s hope it doesn’t take too long as the prospect of another decade or so of stagnation is too depressing to contemplate.

I think player power will diminish under INEOS.
Regardless of whether we get a veteran coach (e.g. Tuchel, Conte) or a young coach (e.g. Motta, Amorim) they need to be ruthless enough to drop any player who doesn't follow instructions or pull their own weight regardless of status or transfer fee. That should be easier with proper football people above the manager who can support him instead of the Glazer approach of "preserving value" and "selling shirts".
That has been my biggest disappointment with Erik. When he joined he came across as a disciplinarian and showed his balls by dropping Ronaldo and Maguire. But its been downhill ever since. I cannot believe the way we play every week is the way he wants to play. But there seem to be no consequences for failing to follow instructions, making schoolboy errors or not putting in any effort. Even though all the injuries leave us with little in the way of squad depth we could at least blood a few youngsters to make the point that regardless of status/transfer fee you need to follow instructions, give 100% and play for the team. And there doesn't seem to be even a whiff of a fear factor.

Every manager has had to work under these rats since 2005 . Fergie was lucky that he had the start of of world class squad before they sprinkled their magic turd dust all over it. As much as I hate the owners I can’t blame them entirely for some of the shocker games this season. Eric messed up in the summer and its unraveled. Started before last season finished if we’re being honest.

ETH hasn't been left with much when could have dropped players, my issue though is that he showed favoritism with Antony when he should have dropped his under performing ass and went to Rash on the left and Nacho on the right or Nacho/Amad or something else other just keep playing him as a waste of space on the pitch. Every where else we don't have a lot of options, imo.

Now Rashford isn't happy with the criticism that's been rightfully thrown his way and calling it abuse now lol! I hope we sell him to PSG in the summer to prove a point that overpaid players that don't perform have no place at this club.... Funny thing I saw this morrning.... Goldbridge defended Rashford's comment, say that he(Goldbridge) is blameless and actually tried to put apart of it on AlternativeMUFC by "that commentary thing (I dont watch it) with voices over the top of it".... god I wish this guy would fuck off.

Can’t understand why you’d watch that soft cunt (or any of them for that matter) watching games of football instead of watching games of football yourself. Suppose I’m just old as fuck. But probably younger than Goldbridge…I don’t know how anything works anymore. Insert clip of Ole saying the game’s gone here.

PSG do not want Rashford. It is probably his agent trying to boost him up. Unfortunately we are stuck with him.
Funnily enough Erik is also not happy with criticism rightfully thrown his way. Both him and Rashford need to take some responsibility for how crap this season has been.

Just read that Hansi Flick has been linked…
Was supposedly lined up for the Barcelona job but Xavi is now staying…
Could do a lot worse I guess…
