More chat today about Ineos wanting Southgate. We will probably end up paying the FA 50 million for the privilege on top. I would sooner have potter, ole or even Steve Bruce. Big Sam is free

If ineos and their plan to get us back on the top involves Southgate then they are no better then the rats, the fact they still can't make a decision on the manager is a huge worry too, Not great at all.

The Southgate stuff is deeply concerning. It’d be like self-amputating your leg only to replace it with your ear.

I don’t think there’s any way Southgate can happen this summer. I know I’ve said this before, but Gareth won’t disrupt the squad by announcing he’s taking the United job afterwards. For all his tactical flaws, he has a lot of integrity in that regard.
And by the same token, we can’t wait around all summer for him. If we were to do that, it would be obvious that he was taking the job and would be a massive disruption anyway.
I think the intention is going to be keep Ten Hag and then move for Southgate in November if it’s all going wrong.
So we’d all better hope to fuck that Erik can get us going next season.

Imagine press conferences with Dripgate.. INEOS need to remember the boos from last night. Or even check out TopRedCafe, even over there they’re horrified at the prospect.

The prospect of waistcoat taking the reins terrifies me. I love United. Have done since being 7 years old. That's 45 years now. If he takes charge, I very well may throw in towel.

If he was on the back of winning the euros and world cup I wouldn't be as fussed about it, as there is some huge egos in the camp and he clearly has them all onside, but he hasn't won anything and when we was 1 up against Italy he shit the bed and sat back instead of going for the win, he hasn't got the bottle to go for it he's just a safe pair of hands who will just tread water, absolute pointless appointment if it happens.

It would be a crying shame if the nepotism we endured under the Glazers was replaced by cronyism under INEOS. Ratcliffe, Brailsford, Ashworth, Southgate....they are all good mates. So impossible as Southgate sounds it might just happen. Although as Kojak said it is more likely to happen if INEOS cannot decide on anyone in the coming weeks and end up sticking with Erik without any real conviction and tap up Southgate once the Euros are over.
