Yeah, this is a good window.
It'll matter for very little when the manager starts Mount as a false 9 for the 3rd game in a row against Liverpool.

In isolation I agree that a Sterling deal doesn't make sense. However if it is the only way we can get Sancho off our wage bill as well as receive some additional cash then I am all for it. Regardless of what Erik says about "moving on" he doesn't trust Sancho and he won't get many minutes and his stats are far far far worse in the Premier League than Sterling's so we'd be getting an upgrade. I also like the idea of having an experienced winger with an end product while we wait for Amad and Garnacho to become more consistent and productive. And if Sterling joining means that Rashford gets fewer minutes that is even better!

Smashing window in fairness. We might now be able to target one or two world class players next summer rather than wholesale changes like this one. On the verge of a 8 or 9 out of 10 I think. Need to spend the next few days getting rid of players now. Can't see anymore incomings at this stage.

Get Ugarte on that training pitch and up to speed for the Liverpool game.

We basically got a Declan Rice/Caicedo type player for half the cost. From what I've seen of him, he will infuriate a lot of people with his tendency to ping passes back and sideways He is a no nonsense ball winner, will definitely add some steel in midfield and hopefully it will allow Mainoo to play ball!

Sanchez had superb numbers before he came to United so I think that is not a good benchmark.
No point getting rid of dead wood to bring another one in.

hes better than antony and if we can pay him less than both antony and sancho, we can cover the wings for less money. he also has a much better attitude than both of them

The fact that played for those two should be reasons enough.

I quite rate Sterling, but I prefer the focus on building out a new squad for the long run with younger players. And if we’re using him to get Sancho’s wages off our books it makes no sense, as we’re just landing someone with equally silly wages. Move on, nothing to see here.

My sentiments exactly, doesnt matter if he has better attitude, I think those days of us swapping players for higher tik tok views is over

Unless we get a crippling injury list ( always a possibility with us) then Ten Hag doesn’t really have any more excuses. He’s been backed to the hilt and has also inherited one of the best players in the world and two of the best youngsters in the world (with Amad not far off). Top 4 and a European trophy is the bare minimum for me.

Fuck taking sterling, tell them we want the cash upfront or at the very least actualy get a good player off them instead, they are stacked so I'm sure a deal could be done for somebody else.

I still think we are a top class cf away from being a very good team, unless rasmus this season wacks in a shit load of goals that definitely needs to be a main priority next summer for me, but as you say top four is the bare minimum this season and is easily doable.
