Nothing against Toney but he is nowehere worth £60 million. A year left of his contract and the risk of him gambling. He also wants big wages, and would likely want a 4 year contract minimum.
I get that Brentford want what's best for the club and that's fair play but they have to be realistic. Do they keep him and lose him on a free in 12 months or do they get in £30 million and reinvest in the squad overall

For any target just have a maximum price after one or two bids and walk away if we feel we are being fleeced.
Let’s just make sure those bids are close together and not drag on the whole summer.

I’ve heard he’s good but have to admit have not seen him play at all.

I’ve heard he’s good but have to admit have not seen him play at all. Me neither. Not massively impressed with the amount of goals he’s scored over his career though I guess you have to consider who he’s played for and he’ll be a Rasmus backup anyway.

It is stupid to spend £60m on a back-up striker. And Toney will want high wages and isn't going to want to warm the bench. Zirzkee looks like a good option for £34m. I haven't seen much of him but goal.com has a nice write up: www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/joshua-zirkee-bologna-striker-transfer-thiago-motta-ronaldinho/blt4e9d93567457d95d#cs91b5f85e87244ac7 Basically a tall physical striker with great technique....shades of Zlatan. Struggled a bit in his 1st season in Italy but really matured and went from strength to strength in his 2nd season. So ready for the step up. But of course he might not fancy playing second fiddle to Hojlund even though there are enough games over a long season that he will get plenty of gametime. He's a late addition to the Dutch squad so hopefully we'll get a glimpse of him.

Player sales are going to be the issue.
Casemiro has reportedly turned down Bayern because the financial package they were offering wasn't attractive. And with the wages he's on only the Saudi clubs would be willing to match them and not every player wants to move to Saudi Arabia.
Juventus cooling their interest in Greenwood because a section of the fan base is against the move. And that will be true of most big clubs. Might be able to get some interest in Spain from the smaller clubs but they probably won't be able to pay much more than £20-£30m.
Dortmund aren't going to buy Sancho and for the £40m we want I cannot imagine anyone else wanting to either.
And if we cannot raise at least £50-£100m in player sales I do not see how we are going to afford a defender, striker AND a midfielder. Most likely we will skimp on the midfielder if we cannot sell Casemiro. But then we end up in exactly the same situation as last season with a leaky midfield that puts our defence under pressure.

If those rumors about him not wanting to sit on the bench in the cup final are true on top his performances last year, I really hope he goes. It could also be a sign of a player willing to sit around and collect his 350k PW salary etc. It's not good and I don't see anyone buying him, so you just hope he can regain form if he stays. I just don't think he has the legs in that position for how we want to play. Sancho is not going to take a cut in his wages either and nobody is going to match it. He knows he can stay at Dortmund until his contract runs down, so fuck him and Dortmund

Sancho and Casemiro on 500k PW between them, even with the Dortmund subsidy for nothing is basically 30M per year wasted and Antony on top of that. Absolute garbage recruitment and management, which is why we are going to have to be really smart in this rebuild.

Seems quite creative too so given the price and his age seems like a good buy.

I’d make him return and train with the reserves. if he doesn’t like it then he can’t either go fuck himself or agreed a mutual termination.

Sell him to some other cunt and then loan him with an option to buy from them, bung them a few mil. simples. Chelsea and city would do it and get away with it.
