Good this lad is signed early but lets not start pretending he is going to solve our goal scoring problems , Both (Zirkzee , Hojlund) are currently not good enough to be starting regularly in a United team.
There is potential there , but then we said the same about Martial, and Depay and Sancho and Danial James and Pellistri and ...
Would have loved to see someone like Osimhen here.

We havnt got the money for osimhen we have to many other issues to solve, our main issue wasn't the striker scoring goals it was the lack of other players chipping in with them, once we have sorted the defence out which it looks like we are and if we can get ugarte in to cover the back it should allow a lot more freedom to the forward players. I'm actually happy about this change of tactic it seems like this summer will be smart buys and hopefully get the players who need shifting out of the club too.

Hojlund is a damn good prospect. It is not his fault the service is crap. His shot conversion level is well up there with the top strikers in the Premiership. Hopefully the service will improve once we start controlling games and have a more settled team. And even with the crappy service he still managed 16 goals in his first season in a new league and is only 21 years old. Most strikers do not peak until they are much older.
As for Zirzkee he has been signed as a back-up striker. He will provide Rasmus with some competition and provide cover if Rasmus gets injured or needs a rest. He also provides us with some tactical flexibility as he can play as a false 9 or as a number 10 and is good at creating chances and link-up play while Rasmus is more of an out-and-out goal-scorer. And he's made great strides at Bologna and is ready for the step up. It is always difficult for players when they come through the ranks of big clubs like Bayern Munich and aren't quite good enough to make it so get carted off on loan to different countries when they are young. Character building though so I think he will settle fast with us and be ready for the challenge.
As Stew has already mentioned it means little he didn't get much gametime for Holland. International managers play favourites and there is a concept of seniority whereby experience is favoured so a player with more international caps and tournament experience will usually have an advantage. But you can bet that if Zirzkee does well for us then starring for a high profile club like us will quickly get him promoted to the Netherlands first team.

I have seen a couple of rumours that we are after Dani Olmo…
I would be all over that!

Buying 2 promising forwards for £100m is good business. Especially when you consider the prices that players like Muani, Ramos, Nunez have gone for.
It is tempting to say Osimhen is more of a sure thing. But we've been down that route before spending big money on Sancho, Mount, and Pogba and putting them on huge wages.
I would much rather buy young and promising players put them on modest wages which only get increased if they succeed at the club and that way if they don't work out for whatever reason we can sell them at a modest loss to a smaller club. The problem with seemingly sure things like Pogba and Sancho is that if it doesn't work out then their wages are beyond the reach of smaller clubs and big clubs generally don't want other big clubs cast off. Especially as FFP means that we cannot just splash £100m on every position we need to strengthen.
Also we need to remember where we are at a club. We have a pretty mediocre squad. Very few of the current squad would get into a prime United side. Martinez, Mainoo, Bruno, Garnacho, Shaw (when fit) and that is about it. If we can buy 3-4 promising young players every summer then in 3-4 years time we should have a squad that can challenge for all the major trophies and that is the time when we can think about spending big on some finishing touches to complete the jigsaw to bring in that extra bit of quality and experience.
I am encouraged by what I see happening this summer.

I have seen a couple of rumours that we are after Dani Olmo… I would be all over that! I wish the fuck we bought him last year instead of Mount! I don't see us doing that this year as we have too many 10 type players we need to get on with that. Zirkzee is going to play a creative forward role as he plays mostly deeper and on the left. We have Bruno obviously unless something happens there and Mount and McTominay who is shit in CM but better getting into the box! I can't see us spending on Olmo this year, unless Bruno leaves. We need to sort out at least one probably two CB's and a LB and hopefully get a decent defensive mid. That's going to be it this year along with Zirkzee

Wouldn't mind selling Rashford and buying Olmo as a replacement! Erik is reportedly a bit fed up with Rashford and who would blame him.

Evans signed a 1 year extension. Like him and it does make sense if the 2 cb’s we are signing are very young, throw in kambwala and Martinez is the only senior CB. Evans doesn’t need to play, just guide and coach these guys

Maguire also isn't going anywhere. Whatever we could sell him for would barely cover the pay-off we'd have to give him. I'm resigned to that. As a squad player he at least can stay fit and be available when we need him and since he's been stripped of the captaincy his performances have improved.

Would like to see Kambwala go out on loan for a season. Think he looked decent last season at times so wouldn't want to see him leave altogether.
Evans staying on for another season makes sense. Plenty of experience and not a player that will be expected to play a lot. Plus he was actually decent for us last season.

Yeah Maguire is unlikely to go anywhere, unless they play real hardball, or if we could use him with Everton on the Branthwaite deal, but even that doesn't look very likely. He just leaves on a free next year. That was always his intention
