Defensively inept. And, you know, a murderer. really? Yes, really.

I’d sooner get rid of Dalot to be honest. Doesn’t produce much going forward and doesn’t defend well. At least with AWB, there’s an element of his game that is top notch. Ultimately neither are good enough. AWB is good enough for our bench though....

Varane has gone to newly-promoted Italian club Como on a free. Fabregas is their manager (fuck me that makes me feel old). Surprised, I honestly thought he could do better, I know he was injury prone but when he was fit I thought he was still very solid for us. He’s only 31, hardly a career-ending age (especially for a centre back).
Am I missing something beyond his presumably high wages?

Varane the best of them obviously. I imagine the lifestyle is a selling point along with the presumably high wages you’ve mentioned.

So we have the RB replacement firmed up, just need to move AWB. Last I saw over the weekend he was a go to West Ham just needed to give the ok but could be wrong in that understanding.

My guess is that we stepped in and they said no thanks to Westham. Westham come back to their first love (AWB) and we get this guy, hopefully the net spend is £0

Not sure why they are so keen on a RB if our financial situation is not good , like most of the position in our squad RB could also do with an upgrade but central midfield is almost non existent and has to be the priority.
We need to get Ugarte and Rabiot in asap.

Also don't know how getting rid of AWB effects the FPP though

The fitness issues bug me. With Erik as manager and the physical demands of the Premier League we should only be signing incredibly robust players. And if he cannot keep fit in Germany what hope does he have of staying fit in England? He was good for Ajax but then again so was Antony and Donny so it means very little. And we should have the resources to cast a much wider net than Erik's former players. The whole move just feels a bit regressive. And weren't INEOS supposed to be prioritizing players U25? Mazrouia is going to be 27 years old in less than 4 months.

I like AWB, he has his flaws but is an awesome defender and always puts a shift in and doesn’t stir the pot behind the scenes.

I think with AWB, as good as he is defensively, he has very bad lapses that have cost us in the past. I like him too but we massively over payed for him, he is at best a backup. Almost rubbish going forward.

PSG willing to let Ugarte join on a loan with an obligation to buy.
Surely this has to be grabbed by Utd? Instead of the awful reports of us going back to Amrabat as he’s more affordable?

A few weeks ago when the Ugarte talk came up, a significant point was made in an article. Apparently not everyone is convinced by his overall game. They appreciate what he can do defensively but supposedly some saw him as a more expensive version of Amrabat. Honestly I can't comment as I have only seen the lad play once. I think we are likely beyond that stage as we have agreed terms with the player.
