The Dutch/Ajax link yet again. Averaging 20 games a season. For me, an unimpressive selection in targets. Said it before but rather just keep AWB.

I hope INEOS have thought this through. I'm a bit sceptical of any deal where the main rationale for buying a defender is to "unlock Antony's potential". Sounds a bit like magic beans tbh, and I don't think AWB is our biggest problem, far from it.

I’d sooner get rid of Dalot to be honest. Doesn’t produce much going forward and doesn’t defend well.
At least with AWB, there’s an element of his game that is top notch.
Ultimately neither are good enough.

I'm thinking he will start and dalot can still cover the lb position as and when Shaw is out injured, once we sell AWB he's not really costing us any money to bring in, and hopefully he can add something going forward with our attacks.

Concerning the lack of outgoings and the CM hole still there

Dakota will start I think. Regardless of the new guys qualities (and he’s very good going forward) he does seem to have injury problems.

Concerning the lack of outgoings and the CM hole still there I think it was Romano who said last night that this will be a big week for Utd in terms of incomings and outgoings. It needs to be.

Yeah I saw that. RB, CB and with some hope, huge hope CM. get the three in this week and it takes pressure off somewhat whilst further departures are negotiated

If midfield isn’t adequately addressed this season is also a fucking write off.

We can sign the best backs in the world, but without the midfield being sorted we’ll still be shipping goals.

If midfield isn’t adequately addressed this season is also a fucking write off. Exactly. I love the two signings so far, can’t wait to see the new three amigos develop, have high hopes for Amad but you know what? None of it will matter a fuck when we’re still shipping 20 chances a game.

If we can't afford Ugarte or Zubimendi (or Zubimendi doesn't want to move this summer) then rather than go for someone mediocre who we'll have to replace then just sign Rabiot on a free and use what is left of the budget to buy De Ligt.
A midfield of Rabiot Mainoo and Bruno is good enough to finish in the top 4 and none of them are particularly injury prone and we have players like Scotty and Mount who can slot in and do a job if required as well as Collyer coming through the ranks.
Defence was where our injuries were concentrated last season and with that in mind it would be nice having Dalot and Mazraoui capable of playing on both flanks so we aren't relying on Shaw and Malacia staying fit and having Yoro, Martinez, De Ligt, Maguire, Lindelof and Evans as our centre back options would provide ample cover and mean that we can avoid overplaying Yoro (who's still very young) and also not have to gamble on Martinez's fitness if his knee injury persists.

Marcos Alonso? Fuck that! Defensively inept. And, you know, a murderer. really?
