I can understand them putting a lower bid in to start but they need to come to an agreement quick Fuck Bayern, that's not a position of strength and it's just delaying a settling in period for us and them getting players in. Two players they are pushing out have literally told are not central to their plans and they are trying to extract way too much for. They have the same problem we have with players they don't really want on very high salaries, whom only a few clubs could will pay up for and match those salaries! There's one buyer or else both those players sit on the bench next season and cost the club a fortune.. move the fuck on you stubborn box head C--ts.

We need to start prioritising at least one midfielder, myahe even 2 if we can offload McTominay. Imo another centreback and a right fullback come 2nd to that. Can sign all the defensive players we want, without that midfield being addressed were still float up shit creek.

500,000 Euro PW those two are getting at Bayern. That's what it will cost Bayern to have two players in their squad that they clearly don't want!

That's where the real value is to them and not just the transfer fees! Anything more than 35-40m Euro for de Ligt and 20m Euro for Mazraoui is way too much and they ain't getting it from anyone else! I'd walk away because there are question marks over both.

We probably do need to sign another CB. Yoro was an opportunity too good to pass up but he is 18 years old and you cannot expect him to play 40-50 games a season. He will just burn out and end up with long term injury problems. And already he will miss the first 3 months of the season. Maguire is useful cover but we need modern defenders who can play from the back if we want to go up another level. And Martinez has had bad luck with injuries as well so I wouldn't count on him staying fit the whole season.
Not sure where that leaves us in terms of signing a midfielder. Ugarte deal doesn't seem to be progressing and we are apparently looking at cheaper targets with Joey Veerman of PSV mentioned but I don't think he is even a defensive midfielder and we are overloaded in number 8s. And as we've already seen lots of players look good in the Dutch league and flop in the Premier League. If we can't afford Ugarte we could do a lot worse than Rabiot who wouldn't cost a penny. He can play as a number 6 or a number 8 is athletic, good on the ball and intelligent and very experienced. Unfortunately Arsenal are now keen and Real Madrid are also in the mix and I cannot see him waiting for us to make a late move even though he reportedly rebuffed Liverpool as he was holding out for us.
And at least we could get Rabiot done pretty quickly in time to start the season and then we'd still have enough dry powder to buy Ugarte if we manage to sell Scotty and PSG lower their asking price later this month. And there is enough room in our midfield for both players

Definitely shouldn't let Bayern rip us off especially with the ridiculous wages those players are on. They are surplus to requirements at Bayern and when our youngsters come through or we have the funds to buy top quality they will end up surplus to requirements or bit-part squad players for us as well so sticking them on 5 year contracts on high wages doesn't seem like smart business. And we are doing them a favour taking them off their hands.
Mazraoui cannot stay fit for Bayern so what are the chances he can do so for us? De Ligt hasn't been especially injury prone in his career but he picked up a knee injury last season that recurred and getting deja vu with Mount who we signed after an injury ridden season which continued for us.

The fact the players and their agent are bemused tells me the offer was fair. I have some concerns over the deals though, both aren't the fittest but I guess Dalot is superfit and will be no.1 and I'd think Yoro will likely be ahead of De ligt so maybe.....

It's not even conjecture, because it's pretty clear in that article where that information is coming from. The agent, the players and from United speaking to Ornstein. Nobody really knows what our approach with Ugarte really is, but that's a similar situation. They have too many players in that position they have paid a lot for and need to move him on. All of those players would be an upgrade for us, if they stay fit and perform to their best, but it's not like we're bidding for their key players they don't want to sell.

Some reports linking us to Sander Berge as a cheaper alternative to Ugarte if PSG refuse to budget on their 60m euro valuation. Norwegian international defensive midfielder. Anyone seen much of him? Imagine he wouldn't be expensive given Burnley got relegated and need to balance the books.

He was good a few years ago before he went to Sheff utd, actually thought that was bit of a coup for them at the time, seems like a player who would do well at a mid prem team, so would be perfect for us.

If they opt for a player of that calibre it would seam to me that they’ll try for Wharton next summer

www.footballfancast.com/man-utd-in-shock-talks-for-sander-berge-like-martin-zubimendi/ This is a good write up. Echoes what Stew and bushy1987 have been saying. Good on the ball. Battle tested. And you'd imagine he'd be very grateful for the opportunity and give us 100%. Burnley signed him for £12m last summer so they'd be happy to double their money especially as their finances took a hit on relegation and the player isn't keen to play in the Championship. So £20-£25m might get a deal done. Which is a reasonable fee for a squad player and heaven knows we need a few defensive midfielders as the only number 6 we currently have is Casemiro who is past it and Collyer would probably benefit from a loan move.
