Agree that we need a major clear out as well. But it is wrong to say the players should go before the manager and we should give Erik more time.
It should be clear this season that Erik is part of the problem and not part of the solution and he's taken us backwards.
His tactics, game management and substitutions are appalling. He recruited half the players we want to get rid of and plays favourites. And he's far too stubborn and arrogant to change his approach or admit any fault.
He came to us with a reputation for being an amazing coach. But the only evidence we have that anything is actually happening on the training ground is our never ending injury list. I see little evidence that this side has been effectively coached. At least under LVG and Jose before the players downed tools we at least looked organized and well drilled and had some kind of identity. We are completely shambolic under Erik.

That right there made us fucking winners. Nothing else. That. Where the fuck is that anger in the game now? I'll tell you where. It doesn't fucking exist. Now it's fucking money. Not passion. Not love. Not pride. Not pulling on the jersey that great players in the past have died for wearing. To represent one of the greatest clubs in the world. One which was built on the working class of Manchester, Scotland, Ireland, the midlands and beyond. A club built on the hardships of the local area, giving kids the dreams and hopes of pulling on the bloody glorious jersey. Now, it's a bunch of wet wipes hoping for likes. Sad. Fucking. Times.

“It’s not an embarrassment it’s a huge achievement.” - Manager.
I’m worried about his mental health actually.

I just watched a post-match interview with Ten Hag.
His "great achievement" comment was made even more scandalous, really, by his comparing two successive finals with "five in twenty years" of his predecessors. The cheek of that!
He also looked destroyed by stress and to have aged more than Moyes did.

“I’m sure we have a good chance, although we play the best team in the world,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of injuries and hopefully those players can be back for the final. If we go with a squad who believes then we have a chance to win a trophy.” ETH
So out plan for the final is to: a) Celebrate reaching the final after requiring a penalty shootout to beat a team that is 8th in the Championship with a squad that took around £20-£30m to assemble b) Call our opposition the best team in the world (ready made excuse when we lose) c) Hope we get some players back from injuries (we won't, so ready made excuse when we lose) d) Believe we can win (less effort then actually analysing City's weaknesses and trying to come up with a proper game plan) e) Hope we get lucky

The irony is that we spent almost the whole of the first half slowing the game down and then in the second half when it needed slowing down, we didn’t do it.
We are thick as fuck.
I’ve defended the manager, or at least I’ve defended the theory that the manager is bigger than the players. But fuck me, I’d have sacked him in the middle of the pitch after that shit today.
Needs to go, not capable of taking us to the next level and we’re supposed to be starting afresh.

Still don’t trust them to make the right decision on deciding the new manager tho

It’s alarming how little the players and manager get it. Virtually everyone just saying it’s the result that matters and we’re through to the final.
I’ve never felt so disconnected from the club. There’s literally nothing to like about us currently. How one of them can’t stand up and simply say “We’re extremely disappointed with how we managed the game in the last 20 mins of normal time.” Is beyond me.

Anyone else still fucking fuming this morning or is it just me? After the game, I didn't move from the sofa for 2 hours. Didn't even have the TV on. A disgusting club in every way. Overpaid players who kick a ball around a field (badly) shouldn't effect mental health this way. Wasters.

Was more like “ah right, of course this is happening”. Just apathy now. Which is this shit club’s biggest crime really. Just got to try to rise above it mate. Get out for a walk, stop somewhere for a brew. Football’s shite anyway init, children’s game.

“We started the game really well and then conceded a sloppy goal. We were unfortunate to concede the second goal. I think the penalty was so hard but all credit to Coventry. They made it tough for us in the second half of extra time. It sums up our season, we had great control and played well for 60 minutes but then we conceded out of nothing. Then I don’t know, it seems like the world wanted Coventry to go on and do it. We showed great character to stick with it and it was important to win the shootout.”
Maguire's post-match comments show that the players also don't get it. And wouldn't surprise me if to some degree he is parroting the manager because the above reads like Erik's typical post-match comments.
i.e. we played well, lost control and made mistakes in key moments, conceded goals, but at least we fought hard to get back into the game.
Players wouldn't dare make those kind of mistakes or throw away 3-0 leads under Fergie or Jose. But they seem to have got the message under Erik that it is OK so long as they keep trying which is a total loser mentality.
