In his first spell he spent more or less the last 2-3 years whoring himself to Madrid and he would have gladly gone to City had we not put a 500k a week offer on the table.
Remember the "I'm like a slave comments".
He feels some connection because he spent 6 years here but it's not much more than that.
He also had multiple opportunities to come back to United during his time at Real and rejected the move every time. He only came back when he realised his time at the very top was coming to an end as Juve were trying to find anyone to take him off their hands.
No doubt he has feelings for United but this idea that he loves the club so much is so wide of the mark. He loves Ronaldo so much, nothing else. He did everything in his power to force a move to Real through, and sulked through half his final season because he never got the move he wanted in 2008.
As others have said, he absolutely only did the interview because he had been dropped. If ETH had said he's still my number 1 and will play every week, he'd have happily gone about everything with a smile on his face not caring a jot about the Glazers or the facilities. He's a man child who couldn't hack being told he's getting old.
