Its ludicrus, England fans are childish and EVERY worlc cup, they have to blame someone, was it the fact we played poorly? NO! Are they blaming Lampard for looking like a piece of shit who belongs in the championship? NO! Are they blaming THREE players who ALL missed penalties? NO! They cant face the fact that England lose because they wernt up 2 scratch, they need a scapegoat, Ronny will stay, it will all be settled when hes back, him and Rooney will talk it over, the papers are just stirring shit as usual. exactly its always the same they played shit and they have to admit that they can't blame ronaldo thats just stupid and totally unfair on ronaldo

I don't think that this is press speculation. It's a Press Association release which usually means a press release from a club (Real ?) or an agent. Which ever, it looks like it's pukka. Suppose he plays here next year, and whatever the silly little boy says, he's gotta a long contract. He WILL get a slagging, and a real concerted one, at every away match for sure. It will not be just because of Roo, it's because he has been found to be a cheat and a diver in general. He was still at it last night. But here at OT. Well he's not number one in the hit parade that's for sure. We backed Beckham and that eased it a bit for him but will we do the same for Ronnie. Fans are fickle. First blinding goal or magic run and all will be forgotten. First fall over and sulk........... For me it all depends on price. Anything like Torres money and I say yes. We won't get Lennon so forget about that; but the Ukrainian winger and Torres I'd settle for. If not, sorry Ronnie but a season with the kids in the reserves might make you the comlete product. And I sure as hell won't let you go for peanuts. With the big Italians out of the running to pay megabucks, Real reckon they can pick you up for fuck all. WRONG. SAF may back you most of the time but upset him, money or no, and you'll be filling Ewen Fields midweek!!!!

He returns to training in around a months time, SAF returns from South Africa in just under a months time, unless SAF were to fly back just to talk to Ronnie, nothing will be done until then, it will all be a load of rumours or agents stirring things up.
It might even be forgotten about, i for one doubt he will leave.

Fergie needs to give the long over due bollocking this 'child' deserves. Too true, i know he's been through a lot in the past year, but he's now saying and doing things that could effect not just him, needs taking down to earth as his father probably would have done shoud he have been around.

I agree we shouldn't be selling our best players at a time when we are struggling to get anyone else in..... but.....
If the fella wants to leave then let him go..... for a good price of course. If he hasn't got the integrity to pay back SAF for standing by him then aurevior.
Also, I do think that Ronnie has spent three seasons throwing himself to the floor which has been annoying (you only have to hear the boos from opposition fans in the last few years to know his reputation precedes him). But, like some others, I thought he was slowly amending his ways.... on the evidence of the last seven matches - obviously not. I utterly hate diving and cheating and I struggle to support players when they're doing such. So on that note ...... sell him.
Who do we buy? I'm not too sure anymore with all the names being touted - personally we need a right winger, striker, a defensive midfielder and all round midfielder of some quality. If we fail to get quality names in these positions I fear another season of watching Chelsea et al running off with major trophies whilst we scrabbla around for the Milk Cup!

Ronaldo has wanted to leave United the past few months and now he is rationalizing blaming it on the "chief executive" and alex ferguson. THat way, he thinks, it is not his fault but rather United's fault....A cheap move for what seems to be a money-hungry and fame-hungry youngster

I'm absolutely pissed off and not with Ronaldo. With England, I'm no longer an England fan, I no longer follow any international team.
After the bullshit Manchester United have had to deal with from England, their fans and their media is a joke. First, they give Becks hell, second, blame Phillip Neville and give him hell, the Rio Ferdinand 8 month ban, as well as constantly making up bullshit about Manchester United and now they've gone and forced one of United's best talents, best players and it's the last straw.
I'm just United, no international teams for me. I really hope Ronaldo said those things in frustration, in anger and Fergie can persuade him to stay and use Beckham as an example (he won the Treble the same year he got hell). If Ronaldo does indeed leave then all I can say is Good Luck to the boy and I hope he has a successful, bright career.

at least we're in a strong position in terms of contract with ronaldo and although im disappointed with some of the comments he's made it certainly doesn't make me think we should get rid of him, hopefully as others have said he can be persuaded by fergie and team mates that his future still lies at united, with real still yet to confirm solid interest in him and barca (the only other team i could see him going to in spain) unlikely to venture into the transfer market again this summer there's still hope he will stay and with the addition of a couple of new players maybe he will realise that stayin at utd will be the better option for him and he can forget all this madrid crap (at least until all the speculation starts again in jan).
if madrid do indeed want him then we should make them prove it, they've splashed out exorbitant amounts of money on players before, let them know if they want ronaldo then they'll have to do the same, they probably think they can just pick up our players on the cheap after beckham, well it better not happen this time, if he goes i expect a fee in excess of 30 mill AT LEAST.

He is a fantastic player and should get a lot better yet, but what a diving bastard eh! His antics at the W C 06 have been a real shame on him. Not the Rooney business ( which was just shite anyway ) but the dives. If he spent more time on his feets rather than performing for then ref he would have been the young player of the tournament. However, are you going to buy a Ronaldo at what 14 to 20 million whenthere is potential 4 cut price Itallian teams on the market soon.? I think I'd hold out a while to see what happens.
Question When is the transfer deadline?

I think we're all in agreement that Ronaldo wasn't the one who caused England's exit out of the WC and I stress this because I can't believe that England supporters put on blinders and refuse to look at what really happened. I'm not going to rant about who's fault it was because all of us saw the England matches, and we all know that Ronaldo's involvement in Rooney's being sent off was negligible as the ref was going to issue the card regardless of Ronaldo's input. Some of us backed him because he still wears our shirt and while he does so he is a piece of what will make United successful; do we all think that diving and whining to refs is the way we want to win the Prem? Probably not, and to those who do then let's just agree to disagree. What's to come will reveal itself soon enough but I think this is a more serious situation than the row Ruud and Fergie had because at least in the press Ruud said he loves United and wants to remain here. If he goes he goes so be it but let's demand some serious money from Madrid...as others have posted, we can't let him go for cheap.

He is still our player, and I’m sure Alex will fight all the way to keep him and if he doesn’t succeed in that, he’ll sure as hell drain Madrid money wise. He certainly won’t go on the cheap. Let’s just see how things pan out.

Fergie wants to keep him, he has 4 years left, so SAF would command a phenominal rate for him, like i said before if Real want him, we can take a player and substantial fee, they can take it or leave it (20 mill + Baptista for example) if they leave it, then things will smooth over in the next season and if they dont? Then back to the drawing board, only next year, the price will be higher as he will have improved, Fergie would only take for example a 20 mill bid with no incentives if Ronaldo was 2 years till out of contract and refusing to sign another one.
