Just in from the BBC...
RONALDO SAYS HE WANTS TO LEAVE MANCHESTER UNITED...
Ronaldo targets Man Utd departure Ronaldo has a contract at Old Trafford until 2010 Manchester United's Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo says he wants to leave Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old has been criticised in England for his role in the sending off of team-mate Wayne Rooney when Portugal beat England in the World Cup.
"I think I should get out of Manchester as the circumstances are not right to keep playing there," said Ronaldo.
"Nobody stood up for me, although I did not do anybody any harm. In two or three days I'll decide where to go."
Ronaldo, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, added: "I always said I wanted to play in Spain."
Ronaldo has three years left on his United contract and boss Sir Alex Ferguson said last week he expected the player to report for pre-season training.
He said: "There isn't a problem with the boy and I don't expect any problems.
"When people have been involved in a bid to become president at Madrid they have used clubs like ours."
New Real manager Fabio Capello said it was good news that Ronaldo was considering a move to The Bernabeu.
"He is a Manchester United player," said Capello. "But everyone wants to come to play here and I think he really wants to and this is good news for me.
"We will have to wait and see but at the moment I cannot say anything."

What the fuck, seriously? Without Ronaldo and no new signings (players we need, not pissing goal keepers) we’ve no chance of winning the Premiership next year, and I don’t care what the die hardest of red says. The facts are in front of them. We’re meant to be rebuilding a team, not going in the opposite direction.

This is all we need, isn’t it lads and lasses. We’re meant to be rebuilding. Ok so Ronaldo isn’t the finished article, but losing him is going to be a massive blow, especially considering we haven’t even signed anyone yet, or been strongly linked with anyone. Our midfield is bad enough.
Someone asked me if I was looking forward to next season, the answer now (as things stand) is no.

I'll probably be alone in saying this but good riddance.
If he really doesn't want to be at the club then it's best if he goes. Doesn't matter how good he is.
If it came down to keeping Rooney or Ronaldo there's only one answer isn't there?
Seems like everytime there is a question of team spirit being in doubt at United Ronaldo's name is always involed.
No smoke.............

It’s not just that is it? We’re going backwards here. Losing players (although it hasn’t happened, it looks inevitable) instead of signing new ones. And you’re referring to Aaron Lennon? Spurs are going red in the face with the prospect of Carrick leaving, never mind Lennon.

Mainly those wankers who made that flag and put it outside Old Trafford. Salford Reds, my arse. He's dead right to say that no-one stood up for him and it saddens me because it's not usually the Manchester United way. I remember the old flag on the Stretford End about us standing by players : Cantona 95, Beckham 98 and Rio wheneverthatwas, 03?
Yet again, Manchester United are made to suffer at the hands of England's failure somehow. Scapegoats.

Oh I know, but if he's going towards the exit theres not much else to do other than hazard a guess at whats going to happen. I agree it's a shite outcome for us but who do you think we will ine up as a replacement, if anybody?

Its ludicrus, England fans are childish and EVERY worlc cup, they have to blame someone, was it the fact we played poorly? NO! Are they blaming Lampard for looking like a piece of shit who belongs in the championship? NO! Are they blaming THREE players who ALL missed penalties? NO!
They cant face the fact that England lose because they wernt up 2 scratch, they need a scapegoat, Ronny will stay, it will all be settled when hes back, him and Rooney will talk it over, the papers are just stirring shit as usual.

Do you know what mate, I haven’t a clue. We’re struggling at the moment trying to find players to enhance our very weak midfield, and let’s be honest; things don’t look too good, so also trying to find a replacement for Ronny is what, paddling the shit creek without a paddle?
