Your line-up is correct. W.rooney should be put aside or on the bench. He needs a rest. Ole on for Larsson after half time.

Sorry guys this probably is a stupid question but where's Vidic gone lol? He got an hamstring on the 4th, so I'm guessing he's still out with that for another week

Ok thanks missunited. In that case then yeh I agree with Adam's XI, although the only player I think might not start in that team is Saha. I'd tip Rooney to start again.

I'm not sure if Saha would play either, at least not the whole match. Sir Alex might start him though and take him off. I hope he drops Rooney, whatever the boy says he needs a rest

Yeh I agree Rooney needs a rest but surely the only way to regain form is to keep playing.

I like the line up Adam, as always. And as Mr. Gill said, Ole comes in to replace him. May be Fergie will also put Rooney in there to see how he does (but i highly doubt that) Yeh I agree Rooney needs a rest but surely the only way to regain form is to keep playing. I have supported that idea too mate, however, sometimes all you need is a lil break to kickstart the engines.

Even if Vidic was fit I'd stick with Brown...he's come in for him and done a good job and now it's should be Vidic's time to sit and wait for Brown to slip up. With that sort of competition for places at the club our team will thrive further and become even more successful.
If Vidic gains fitness then we just smack him straight back in what does that say to Wes Brown?..Evra benefitted from Fergie believing in him and sticking Heinzé on the bench, it just goes to show what a battle for a position does.

Yeh I suppose, I thought Wes Brown was very good last season, and I'm sure he'd get straight into most other premiership teams. The fact that he wants to stay and fight for his place at United is great. Well done Wes!

Petrov to sit out Old Trafford trip Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill is to leave midfielder Stiliyan Petrov out of his plans for Saturday’s Barclays Premiership clash with Manchester United to enable him to recover fully from a hamstring problem.
Petrov, signed from Celtic for £8million in August, has continued to play, despite clearly being less than 100% fit in recent games because, of a lack of players at O’Neill’s disposal.
But O’Neill has decided to give the former Bulgarian international a break from action at Old Trafford after signs that his performance levels were beginning to dip.
The Villa chief said: “Stiliyan just doesn’t feel right at the minute so we will take him out of proceedings for a while. He has played on for us with a hamstring injury.
“It has not really gone but he feels it is plaguing him a bit and he has a bit of a back problem coming from it.
“He has been terrific in playing on for us but you have to analyse sometimes whether it is the right thing for the player or the right thing for us.
“If you are getting a performance, it’s a different matter but if the performance is not to the standard everyone would expect, that becomes a different issue.”
On a more positive note for O’Neill, Villa central defender Martin Laursen is edging closer to fitness after a two-month lay-off with a knee problem and could play for the reserves next week.
Laursen has started to join in with parts of training at Bodymoor Heath and is ahead of schedule for a comeback after O’Neill originally thought the Danish international would be sidelined for three months.
O’Neill said. “He’s doing a bit of outside work and that’s very encouraging. The reserve game with Fulham postponed on Tuesday would have came too early for him to play.
“But we would be hoping he can play in a reserve game next week.”
Meanwhile, O’Neill remains interested in taking Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips on loan for the rest of the season although it could depend on striker Milan Baros agreeing to a similar move in the opposite direction.
Baros’ agent Pavel Paska confirmed: “We are waiting for Aston Villa to find an adequate replacement for Milan. If that doesn’t happens, it is very likely there will be no progress in negotiations (with Chelsea).”
---------------- One less threat, there goes their main playmaker..

Thinking that without Petrov Villa will be a bit lost. So I'm thinking that we'll take this 2-0. Roon should definetly sit out, he needs a break whether he wants one or not.

We've been playing him for however many weeks now to see if that would better his form, but it hasn't. So just give him a rest, it's not like we can't live without him for one match.

Maybe we should ask the dutch FA to send another ridiculous report over and get Rooney banned for a couple of matches, that way he won't have a choice.
Looking at the possession we had against them with Scholesy out of the team I think Villa will be lucky to see the ball this weekend and if we can be a bit more clinical we should be quite comfortable, I'll go 3-0.
