great result, I was nervous about this game given some of other performances against the better teams but we just went out there today and played our natural game and eventually our class told, Ronaldo dived to win the penalty and I can't condone that but I can't pretend I didn't enjoy it either because that was a vital goal just before half time and we should have had a penalty earlier on anyway but it'll still give all those haters out there more ammo against him (not like that matters but still). Vidic is a monster in the air and looks a threat at nearly every set piece, and it was great to see Scholesy and Giggs grab one each too. Then to top it off I filled in in a mates 6 a side team and we won 8-2 against top of the league, good times ;D.
oh and was Keane taking the piss out of Rio's lip when they were arguing?

Not a great first half, not at all times a great match of football... but we got an incredibly good result without playing that much better than Spurs.
Another three points, all that matters.
I too agree with suffix, think I recall might be in order..,. I am not going to feel secure with Kuszczak in goal. Hopefully Van der Sar will have a speedy recovery.
oh.. and Sir Alex.... Don't get Rooney to play wide left.

Kusczak is easily good enough to play for us. Question is would Tom Heaton step up if Kusczak got injured?

Kusczak is easily good enough to play for us. Question is would Tom Heaton step up if Kusczak got injured? He's not showed that in the last matches he's played. He's good enough back up for a first keeper as long as he doesn't keep messing up. Not sure if Heaton's ready for that responsibility either. Oh and I forgot to mention in my previous post, O'shea did well when in goal, he didn't let the pressure get to him. I've always rated him as a defender, and he stepped up as a goalie today, I'm actually kind of impressed.

and how the hell did scholes get away without a yellow!!?!??!?! Sir Alex praises travelling army Sir Alex Ferguson saluted United's "extra man" on Sunday evening as the Reds returned home from North London. The manager was referring to the vociferous fans who filled the away section at White Hart Lane and willed their team to victory on a supposedly tricky road trip. "I think the players enjoyed the match, and the fans did too," said Sir Alex. "Our support was terrific today. Away from home they're like an extra man, there's no question about that." The 4-0 trouncing of Tottenham was United's first away win in three league matches, following the shock 2-1 defeat at Arsenal a fortnight ago and the 2-2 draw with Newcastle on New Year's Day. The manager was delighted with the outcome, if a little disappointed with parts of the performance. "I enjoyed the result and the second half once we got in front. But in the first half I thought we were too slow in our build-up. I didn’t think we played with enough width or pace so I felt we could improve when we went in at half-time. "We were out of the traps very quickly in the first 15 minutes of the second half. The build-up was quick, we played with good width and I think it made a difference to us." In an echo of Wednesday's win over Watford, the one-goal difference between the teams at half-time was a penalty converted by Cristiano Ronaldo. It was awarded after minimal contact by Steed Malbranque on the scorer, but the boss wasn't about to heap gratitude on Tyne & Wear referee Mark Clattenburg. "It was an important moment because we had one turned down midway through the halfwhen to me it looked like a clear penalty," said Sir Alex. "I was starting to wonder about Mark Clattenburg because he denied us penalties at Sheffield United (earlier this season) and at Crystal Palace two years ago. I was thinking, "Are we ever going to get a penalty off this guy?" But we got the one just before half-time and I think it settled us down. "We came out with a real purpose in the second half. I said to the players at half-time, "If you want to win the league, you can't sit back and hope teams make mistakes. You've got to make the opposition make mistakes. Your play has got to earn the right to win matches."" The Reds earned the right to beat Tottenham with some scintillating play after the break, capped by the strikes from Nemanja Vidic and Paul Scholes. But after Ryan Giggs added a fourth goal, Sir Alex felt his side eased off and put their clean sheet at risk. "In fairness to the players, they did play well in the second half, but when it went to 4-0, I thought we got careless and Spurs started to make one or two chances. I think we were getting too relaxed at the back. "It's important to have zeros (clean sheets) against your name. In the run-in, that's going to be crucial. I said it right at the start of the season that how we defend is going to be important to us." very well said by fergie. especially liked the part where he said if youre gonna win the leauge you cant sit back and hope the teams make mistakes. You've got to make the opposition make mistakes. Your play has got to earn the right to win matches.

Can't believe that some Spurs fans were complaining about Rooney's foul language. when I saw parents swearing in front of their children and boys as young as 7 or 8, doing the #Wa# sign to Ronaldo, in the Spurs section. Robbie Keane was doing that for about 2 minutes on Sky cameras to Rio

Robinson didnt look best pleased upon hearing 'englands number 1' being sung whilst Rio put on the keepers jersey. overall, not a great performance just we were clinical. overall, another easy 4-0 victory. *nods*

We played like Champions today. Our best performance for a good while. Scholes was terrific, Giggs was great, Ronaldo took a while to get into the game today but certainly the 2nd half he was a class act. Vidic, again, he is a mountain. Magnificent. Our great win was marred by Edwin's injury. At first it looked like it could be worse but thankfully he was able to get back to his feet. I don't know how long he could be out for, nothing has been announced, but I'm guessing it could be 3-4 weeks. I think Kuscscak is a good goalkeeper, but if it's possible I'd be more happy us bringing Foster back until Edwin is fit to play. Or, we could stick O'Shea, The Cat, in there. I know we were 4-0 up at the time, but well done to the boy for having the confidence to play there for the last ten minutes. It was funny when the Sky Sports cameras went on him when the 4th official showed it was 5 minutes injury time. He had a good laugh at that. "F*ck! Please not five minutes!" hehehe. He did very well. So, we entertain Charlton next. With or without Edwin we should win that convincingly. On the same day, Chelsea travel to Middlesbrough. Three points should definitely be added to our tally next week, but I think Chelsea could stumble against the Boro. Let's hope so. GLORY GLORY! #boxing# Well said (Chelsea are at home to Boro....they lost at the Riverside 2-1)

Yeh we were great today. Not a bad performance from anyone. I was at the game and havn't seen the highlights, but why did Robbie Keane keep arguing with Rio lol? I'm pretty sure I heard that we cannot recall Foster, not sure about Howard though.

We were pretty ragged firts half. We should've had a penalty and Ronaldo should've scored when he blasted over, saying that Spurs should've had a penalty too.
And I think O'Shea's found his calling as number 3 GK.

I just thought "what the fuck are you doing you cunt?"...out loud...very loud...in the ear of a stupid Spurs fan stood in front of me.

If he's good enough to play as backup to VDS then why is he not good enough to play when VDS is injured? Were you honestly expecting VDS to be fit for every game this season thereby letting us pick and choose when to play Kuszczak?
