Big dillemma for fergie and the staff this week, what sort of team do we put out against reading keeping in mind we have what is a massive game on saturday. For me the liverpool game must take precedence but I want us to progress in the FA cup. This replay is something we could of done without. ----------------------------------------------------------- think about what type of team liverpool are gonna put out knowing they've got barca few days later ... hopefully it'll all work in our favor ! ------------------------------------------------------------ You know I really doubt that Looneypool will rest any players against us. They'll want to win it, and although there's no chance of them winning the league, they'll still want to finish in 3rd above Arsenal.

its not about resting VDS but rather about giving Tomasz some games ... the more games he has the more confident he is ( normally anyways ) ... and plus he's stuck with Tomasz so far in the cup games... so i don't see why he'd change that... No! Saf has to make it clear now, that the FA-cup is an ambition. If he sticks with Tomasz for no reason, he would have to field Tommy-boy even in the FA-cup final. When it is an absolute must to keep a clean sheet it would be downright stupid to put VDS on the bench. Fergie won't do it!

Got to agree. VDS will be rested plus a few others. Sounds like Smudger will be playing some part which has got to be great news. Really hope we take them apart this time though I think its going to be equally tough this time. Just got to hope that our class shows through. I think that Rooney going to start scoring again soon . Just hope he starts tomorrow and finishes in May. ;D

I think the team will be:
Kusczak
Brown Ferdinand Silvestre Heinze
Ronaldo Fletcher O'Shea Park
Saha Solskjaer
Subs: VDS Evra Smith Rooney Carrick
I think this will go to penalties and hopefully we can win it.

The prospect of Fletcher commanding the midfield is a little scary since the last few times I've seen him in center midfield he's been invisible. O'Shea will come in handy at breaking up the play (hopefully). Silvestre is questionable too but he should be up for it.

'Sir Alex Ferguson is considering asking captain Gary Neville to play in an under-strength team for tonight's FA Cup replay at Reading. Manchester United manager Ferguson will rest a host of senior stars at the Madjeski Stadium tonight as he looks ahead to Saturday's crucial Premiership match at Liverpool. But although Neville was originally set to be one of them, it is understood that Ferguson may now play him after leaving his skipper out of the team that won at Fulham at the weekend. Neville was left out at Craven Cottage after becoming involved in an altercation with Ferguson during the chaotic scenes that marred last week's Champions League victory at Lille. Sources at United have indicated this week that he was omitted as a one-off punishment. United do not travel to Berkshire until today and Ferguson has not yet made the final decision on his team. But it is known that Neville was in his usual right-back berth as United practised team shapes for the match at their Carrington training centre yesterday along with fringe players such as Darren Fletcher, John O'Shea, Ji-Sung Park, Kieran Richardson and Alan Smith. Senior players such as Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Henrik Larsson are not expected to start tonight's game which will leave Neville as by far the team's most experienced player, if he plays.'

This will be a tricky game; no doubt. However, the game at Liverpool is more crucial as it may give us a 12-point lead over the chelski thugs. Although several of the fringe players, such as fletcher, richardson, silvestre, and kusczak, make people nervous, they must be given their chance. I also think that Coppell will rotate his team once again. Unfortunately, I foresee another Southend.

As long as one of Rooney or Ronaldo starts and the other one is on the bench I think we will win this, although I think it might go to extra time.
Imagine how the Reading defenders would feel seeing a fresh Ronaldo come on at the start of extra time.
