It certainly won't be as easy as the Roma game. With our proper 11 without injuries I know that we can beat Milan, but we have a crisis at the back and I must admit, im worried. Milan seem to have an almost full squad (except Ronaldo who is ineligable) so it will be tough. We have got to win the first leg and we need to win by more than 1 goal as I don't think it will be enough. On the plus side though, Celtic managed to take Milan to extra time, so maybe a slender lead wouldn't be a bad thing.

Going to be an interesting match, i don't watch any Italian football but their team strikes me as a bit of an old side. Its not like AC have had a great season in their league (even if you add their deducted points back on they're still miles behind). To be fair they laboured to beat Celtic.
If we are to win we have to play to our attacking strengths we need a good result at home to set us up nicely for the 2nd leg. I think we could stun them like we did Roma.

Experience can win championships so don't count out Milan, they have more Europeon pedigree than we do. I also can't believe people are picking united to win by scores of 3-1 and 4-2! Milan despite their age are strong defensively and will provide problems for players like Ron and Rooney. BUT, I will say United to nip a 1-0 victory in a very close match.

This one scares me! But just because it's a CL-semi and we have so many games played lately.
I'm backing United to keep a clean sheet. If we had our normal back four it would be no problem. But with our current crises Kaka is dangerous with his runs. I hope evra plays on the left because with his speed he can match breakthroughs!
Up front we really need to play with 2 strikers and 2 real wingers! If Giggs and Ronaldo run at their defens with speed, they're just too slow!
And they will dive dive dive all 2 games long...

a win by 2 or more goals without conceding would be sweet, but PLEASE NO INJURIES !

Fergie has recently been playing Fletcher at RB. I don't think it's a good idea playing Heinze in the centre. I wouldn't really be too thrilled seeing Fletcher start at RB, but as I'd prefer to see Brown alongside O'Shea in the centre of defence, then I can't see us having much options at RB. Is Scholes suspended for the 1st leg? I can remember him being booked, and I have a feeling he is suspended. If he is, I think Richardson will be on the left and Giggs alongside Carrick in the middle. My team: Van der Sar
Fletcher - Brown - O'Shea - Heinze
Ronaldo - Carrick - Scholes - Richardson Giggs
Smith - Rooney If we can get a 1-0 win or even a goalless draw , I'll be happy. We just can't go to Milan knowing that they have an away goal. EDIT: After chatting to Ben, I realise Scholes is available for this game. So, I'd put Giggs back on the left and have Scholes alongside Carrick as normal.

I'm not feeling overly confident about this one, with so much experience missing from our back 4 we're really gonna struggle, plus Fletcher, who's role against Roma really helped the team, will most likely be used in defense so there'll be more onus on Carrick and Scholes to break down Milan's play and I'm not sure how they'll cope. With a full squad I'd be very confident but as it is I think our injuries will cost us and we'll end up conceding at least one away goal making the away tie very difficult.

honestly i think kaka and pirlo are going to have a field day on our stand in back 4. everyone has to be at their best and our attack is going to have to hold the ball well and not give it away easily because they can counter quickly and with our 4 it makes it even more dangerous.
man to watch: michael carrick, he will have alot of responsibilities v milan. holding role in the mid and at the same time provide an attacking option we will need o so much

From the Sun: AC MILAN were gloating last night over Alex Ferguson’s injury crisis. Manchester United’s Champions League semi-final rivals cannot believe their good luck in the build-up to tomorrow’s first-leg at Old Trafford. Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti already knew United boss Fergie would be without crocked defenders Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic and Mikael Silvestre. But he could not stop smiling when he discovered Rio Ferdinand had broken down again with his groin injury. Cocky Ancelotti said: “If Ferdinand isn’t going to recover, that is a great advantage for us. “And we have the advantage of playing the second leg at the San Siro.” Ancelotti also revealed the Italians’ masterplan for stopping Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.
He added: “They won’t be able to do much if they haven’t got possession.”Yeah that's genius that. Truly a master plan, why didn't I think of it? They must have cut the interview short because they left out the words "Muawahahahaha"

Seeing that Rafa has done a great job this year Ancelotti should have said, "Rooney and Ronaldo can't do much if they arent alive....Muawahahahaha"

Form a sentence with these words to discover how I feel about this game:
"myself, absolutely, I, crapping, am"

Our injury situation certainly won't help against a club like AC Milan who have the attack to test our second string defenders, but if we can keep it tight in the midfield an keep them on their back heels we should be OK. They'll probably try and score an early goal and then keep the lead so we'll see how this turns out.
