100% agree. Well that game is over until next Wednesday and its gonna be difficult but that is then. We need to look forward to Saturday as we have a tough game at Everton. We have to keep winning in the league now and 2 wins will do it. Anything else, especially the Champions League, is a bonus. And on to Goodison Park...............

It was shocking how this game was all about Scholes! 50 minutes he didn't play well, then suddenly everything run through him and our game worked! Now they have to come for us!

Come on people. We are being a little bit too cocky at the moment. WE ARE UNDERDOGS FOR THE 2ND LEG. Just a quick reminder for anyone getting a head of themselves. Yes we are in a good position, but its gonna be tough in the second leg. I just don't want anybody feeling too gutted next week if we lose. The Champions League us a massive bonus, but right now we are up against in.
Surprisingly the bookies have made us favourites to win the competition, but im sure that will change tommorrow. I think, surprisingly, Liverpool are the favourites, but it feels great to be up there.

I must say i was impressed with Heinze and Evra. They came in a bit heads down at half time and then after gave 150% and made us look solid. Heinze put in some of his trademark tackles and Evra helped Ronaldo tear up the left. I like seeing this mental strength in our team.

First of all, great, great, great, great. Absolutely terrific. I can't put it into words how I felt when Rooney scored the winner. Relief, adulation, unreal. Wonderful. Sheer bliss.
We are going to Milan with a goal to the good. If Milan want to win, they are going to have to go for our throat, and that leaves their aged, tired defence open to our young, quick, creative attack. I can't really see how we can call ourselves the underdogs now. With a goal up, the ball is in our court and the team who are going to have their work cut out, is Mlan.
Other points, I think Ancellotti made a big mistake in taking off Maldini at half-time. Milan have got a veteran back 4, Maldini has got the most experience out of all the team put together. Taking him off so soon in the game was a strange move and one which backfired.
The referee was dreadful. No way did Evra deserve that booking. If I was head of UEFA and saw that, I'd strip the guy of his licence and not allow him to referee again. Evra didn’t even commit a foul and to give the yellow card was just hideous.
Darren Fletcher. Man of the match. Obviously Rooney will get it officially because of his goals, but, Fletcher was brilliant. The best I've ever seen him. Him and Carrick really play well alongside each other in this 4-2-3-1 formation if you can call it that. After the great performances of late, a large part of me would like to see Fletcher and Carrick paired together permanently when Scholes calls it a day.
I think it's without a doubt Michael Carrick is going to replace Paul Scholes. Whenever he gets into an attacking area, I always get the feeling he is going to have a shot. It's great. When he first signed, I was sceptical, but he's really come into his own now. Yet another fantastic bit of business from the gaffer.
So, roll on next week. But first, here’s to a great performance on Saturday against Everton and stepping closer to the title. Glory Glory!

Just got done watching on TiVo here in the states....WONDERFUL FINISH! It's true that we will need 90 minutes of quality football next week to secure our date in Athens but what a thrilling match to watch!
If Scholesy can put a full game together then we will not be beaten! One he got on the ball it was all United.
Now let us just hope that Rooney sticks it to his old mates this weekend

Hi all. Tonights game was brilliant, and even though we are not totally safe it was absolutely brilliant to watch. Then there was the support absolutely amazing, it was a pleasure to listen to. Also, behind both goals the fans were standing up the hwole game which was great to see as I reckon it added to the atmoshpere or made it look more a deifant Old Trafford support. This leads me to ask, why dont we stand up during premier league games? I was at the United v Charlton game in the Stretford End and during the second half we all stood and sung the whole time it was a great experience and something I was glad to be a part of. So I take it tonight during the Milan game the top tier of the Stretford End was standing werent they? Though I hope they push to keep this going at premier league games as well, it is the traditional die hard part and I hope they keep it that way with singing and trying to stand. Also, the North East quadrant is that a die hard area, ive heard so, can anyway let me know how that was tonight? Cheers.

It was my Karma that helped us through, honestly, I take all the credit! Seconds before Rooney equalised I was thinking how quiet he'd been and how we needed to get him on the ball and...bam! It was in the net! Then, as Giggs broke free at the end I thought "if he can get this to Rooney...." (before I'd even seen his run) and, well, you know the rest! I was on my own watching in the early hours of the morning and had no one to tell. Same again next week then guys?! #thankyou# ;D

Look at the ratings in the sun:
Edwin Van der Sar 6 Darren Fletcher 6 Wes Brown 6 John O'Shea 6 Gabriel Heinze 5 Cristiano Ronaldo 8 Paul Scholes 8 Michael Carrick 6 Ryan Giggs 8 Wayne Rooney 9 Patrice Evra 5
What a joke. Fletcher and Carrick both 6? Heinze got a 5? He was our best defender. What a joke. I thought Ronaldo was a bit wastefull last night and he didnt deserve an 8. I don't think the sun watched the same game as me last night.

That Rooney winner reminds me of the goal Ronaldo scored for Real. Says it all. Wayne Rooney is growing up in Europe and that is 9 goals in 11 matches. Good return. Exactly what I was thinking when it hit the back of the net ! The one where he took advantage of Barthez being too far from his near post right?

His first of the night that effectively ended the tie. No shame in being compared to the top scorer in World Cups and when it hit the net I went crazy.
