Tonight was a bad day/night at the office. Plenty of reasons for that; most of which have been explored already.
Just need to pick ourselves up for Citeh. If we win on Saturday and Chelsea don't beat the Arse, then we're the Champs. Surely that is motivation enough.
The Premiership was always our primary target this season. With a following wind we may end up with the domestic double. That wouldn't be a bad season would it?

It wasn't half so bad of a performance bar the three pathetic goals conceded, but few United players looked like they cared to put the ball in. We had the chances, but nobody stepped up. We just needed one goal to get us going, but it never came. I know we can't blame the referee again, but he was just as pathetic as United were.
Can't help, but feel we missed a big opportunity...

gonna start plain and simple. Take that contract from ronaldo and tear it up. I'm sorry lads but when we needed him tonight he had nothing. He never tracked back, he never beat his marker once. His freekicks hammered the wall and never looked dangerous. SHAME ON YOU........SHAME ON YOU !!!!! That is a disgraceful thing to say about him or any one of those guys who has played even a single game for us this season........Ronaldo has dragged this team along all year kicking and screaming - and yeah we got our asses kicked tonight but there is no need to turn on him now - I wont have that said about him or any of them. They could yet win the double and if you were offered that at the beginning of the year you would have taken it with no questions asked for sure. They did their best tonight and yes - it wasn't good enough.........but I know for sure that they did their bst as they always do and that is all I and anyone else can ask of them. I'M PROUD OF THEM AND I'M PROUD TO BE A FUCKIN RED TOO !!!!!

SAF tells the truthI will always be proud of our lads. It obviously hurts to the players, the staff and the fans after coming so close .. but no one to blame; it just wasn't our day. Come on now; the CL dream is over .. but the lads have great mental strength to bounce back. Come on, the Derby is next; that should be enough motivations. LET'S GET OUR TROPHY BACK!!

Hmm...think some of the comments here are a bit rash! Firstly scholes was brilliant as usual...carrick is good enough for european games as are all of the players...they've shown it in previous games...
Defensively we were awful in both games and no-one performed...Milan getting the first goal so early made things very difficult as they were then able to frustrate us. We had a brief speel where we were getting back intot he game and then it disappeared again...I'm angry but at the end of the day with ferdinand, neville, evra and a clearly nto fully fit vidic we are going to be shabby defensively. We definititely need a stronger squad so we can do soemthing effective in terms of changes in matches like these...It's been a long arduopus season and the same 11 have been performing week in week out for the whole season. It's a big ask to expect the same 11 players to perform for the whole season in all comopetitions, but still they have done really....Chelsea witht heir vasts sums of money being invested int he squad haven't had as good a season as us. Neither have milan!
Still, heads up lads. We're odds on for the premiership and I would hope the players will be on fire for the fa cup final and we've reached the semis and were one performance away from the final iof the champions league... a fantastic season. We'll have a lot of money for where we've come and we'll be able to make some good signings for next season. This team is nowehere near finished! Come on united!

A tough match to lose, but what hurt the most was the fact we went out without a good surge to look at least like we were hungry for it. I agree with Fergie saying it wasn't our day so I'm not going to slag off our players. A frustrating day in Italy but now we have Citeh to face and an FA cup final to look forward to. #welcome#

I don't agree with that, I don't think they did their best at all, they were shambolic, I'm not taking away from the season we've had, as we've been sensational for the majority of the season and the team have deserved all the plaudits they've gotten but at the same time they aren't immune from criticism and tonights performance was way below the standard expected from Manchester United. Of course that doesn't mean we should tear up up Ronnies contract but he was shit tonight as were others and that shoudln't just be ignored. We'll move on and focus on the positives of this season and hopefully learn from this horrible night but the players should feel disappointed with themselves tonight as they didn't do themselves justice and I think they'll know that.

European football can be so unfair sometimes.
Liverpool, out of the title race since probably Day 1 after drawing at Sheffield Utd .. in the Final. Oh well, that's football for ya.

They play as a team - and they should stand up and be accountable as a team too - I was annoyed that individuals were being singled out for criticism - As for being a terrible night - of course you are right - but at least now we know how good we really are compared to the rest of the European teams - and we aint too far away from being the best - now Fergie can add the finishing touches to this bunch and for me - next year is gonna be awesome - even better than this one - they are 1/33 for the Prem now - I haven't seen many teams lose at odds like that - tho England do tend to give it a good go, lol. No offence to the English
