AC Milan giving them a good whooping would make me laugh like a loony I think. Certainly make me a happy lil gal for sure....... ;D I'm not sure Milan can play like that again. Ancelloti said it was a "perfect" performance. Tonight proved how much we need a player like Hargreaves. Gattusso more like! It wasn't until he went off int he last game that united got back into the game.

im gutted! i thought this was our year for the treble! we were shite! no complaints whatsoever! milan were miles better than us start to finish!
But we gotta look on the bright side! the double is a very real possibliity! and we wudda defo settled 4 tha start of the season!
I watched the game in a bar an there were a few scouse bastards there cheering when milan scored. Hope they get stuffed in the final! Come on ac
And we desperately need hargreaves fletcher carrick not in that class. Someone to break up the play and turn defece into attacks!

United had no defense whatsoever. And, i would have liked to see VDS a little more jumpy. he seemed to just fall on the ground when the ball was shot in his direction. the ref was kinda shitty and only made one mistake (the rooney penalty). All around a poor performance by the lads, but at least we can still win the double.

Agreed...the word around the pub was...."outclassed". Milan was better rested and good on them for putting the pressure to us. Back to the league... COME ON YOU REDS!

I wouldn't say outclassed as Milan could never have more class than United.. we are the classiest lads around . But outplayed.. that's simply what we were today. The pub had loads of Milan supporters today and it had me enraged. With a few hours to calm down though, I see this: We can take the double. Everyone has a bad day (and in this case it was contagious for the whole club), but United has - like you all said - had a brilliant season with a brilliant club and energy. I won't let today ruin it all for me, and I can only hope United agree to do the same. Moving on, let's spank those city boys ai x

Not by a long shot!...but yes, we were outplayed. We just step it up, Milan played their usual game, we just didnt rise up as we normally do. So outplayed is the word...outclassed? not so much! I still say though, let us not get ahead of ourselves. Just take it one game at a time. I know it is a bit difficult not to think about what ifs and what nots, but guys, let us concentrate on one game at a time. We HAVE to get over Citeh before we take on Chutski and then Hammers. Let us take one step at a time.

May I just say, I don't want to criticise the players, but I feel I have to say that I hope the stick Ronaldo received, rip up his contract etc. was in heat of the moment. As much a legend or not, if we MUST crticise one of our own, why not aim that anger at our most experienced player? Our captain last night, Ryan Giggs. Where was he? Where was his motivation? The captain is a manager on the field. It is his job to inspire, raise spirits, prove to his players around him that all is not lost and if we believe, we can win the game. Is there at least just one of us on here who saw that from Ryan Giggs last night? It pains me to criticise Ryan like that. But if Ronaldo had a stinker like a select few say he had, what do they think of Giggs' performance. Tell me. Please.

What Atsis said, but I'm too depressed to add anything.
Except that midweeks when you lose in Europe are crap because if you lose on Saturday your bad day is Sunday and by the time Monday comes you are over it.
My bad day is THURSDAY and I'm taking my lumps like a good 'un. Some days, like these, I hate that I live in Liverpool. Tho I know I'll be over it soon.
Always next year.

gonna start plain and simple. Take that contract from ronaldo and tear it up. I'm sorry lads but when we needed him tonight he had nothing. He never tracked back, he never beat his marker once. His freekicks hammered the wall and never looked dangerous. SHAME ON YOU........SHAME ON YOU !!!!! That is a disgraceful thing to say about him or any one of those guys who has played even a single game for us this season........Ronaldo has dragged this team along all year kicking and screaming - and yeah we got our asses kicked tonight but there is no need to turn on him now - I wont have that said about him or any of them. They could yet win the double and if you were offered that at the beginning of the year you would have taken it with no questions asked for sure. They did their best tonight and yes - it wasn't good enough.........but I know for sure that they did their bst as they always do and that is all I and anyone else can ask of them. I'M PROUD OF THEM AND I'M PROUD TO BE A FUCKIN RED TOO !!!!! we've had this greatest player in the world tag all season and when it comes to the crunch time when your teams needs you, he didn't play well. Last night we seen the real deal in kaka, never gave the ball away, was walking past people and scored a great goal. I'll admit hes having a great season and has improved no end but he always fails to live up to his billing on these big nights. I think hes great to watch and a feel showman abit like ronaldinho but the difference is the bigger the game in the last few season the better ronaldinho plays. If we win the double it will be a great season but this was a chance to win the european cup, a real chance and we choked and I am depressed as fuck.

No need to turn on any of our lads just because they put in a bad shift last night. It happens, at the beginning of the season few would have guessed we would have made the progress we have. The league is our bread and butter and we would have fought for that, the Champions' League is the bonus that was nice while it lasted. It seems some here got distracted and now because it's over they feel like bashing the team. This is not on! Those players are the reason we had many fields to fight on, when we expected very little!

Well well well. I ain't going to criticise anyone but for Scholes was the one player who had what i would say a decent match. Everything went through him and unfortunately Carrick didn't match nor help Scholes out in the midfield. In games like this you play your players where they are most effective and so Rooney should have played somewhere in the middle where the meat is needed and not upfront like a lost chicken. I'm not blaming Rooney because to say the truth he hardly got the ball. I won't criticize Ronaldo but if he wants that Best Player In The World Tag then he has to perform on the big stage which in case he didn't notice was last night. I was actually shocked that he was ineffective but all credit goes to Gatusso. Surely we should have employed a defensive midfielder to Man Mark Kaka. I was surprised that Kaka was left to walk about wherever he wanted to.
Now how about our Captain. I think that Rooney should be made Captain on nights like this. No Joke. He has that character and influence on the game that no other Man utd player has.
I don't know if everyone think like me but don't you get the impression that certain british players bottle it on big ,international and european competitions? Just a thought.
And finally, if you giv A.Smith a start against AS Roma then surely he should have been given the nod against AC milan.
Hargreaves are you listening? We need you!

I echoe your point about fergies naiviety in not using a man marker on kaka. We've been the only team in the champions league this year not to deploy a man marker on kaka. He destroyed us last night because he was allowed to turn on the ball everytime. On the other hand when the ball arrived at rooney or ronaldo gattuso was already there and waiting. This loose tactical play cost us I believe.

Well im embarrassed by that scoreline today. In my opinion it was not a 3-0 game. They just got out the traps quicker, and it didnt go well for us. Fletcher should have scored and at 2-0 you felt that 1 goal would turn the tide, but it wasn't to be and we go out. Im more than happy with the league though and hopefully the cup. It hurts today, but we will get over it.
Fergie needs to get the boys up for Saturday now and get that finished asap, hopefully this weekend to take some pressure off. I can't wait for the summer for the sake of the team because it has been a hard season, especially with the World Cup. Its really starting to show and our squad isn't that strong with regards to the depth.
Chin up lads. Its still been a great season with a league possibly tied up on Sunday.
