Criticising Tevez when he has been asked to play right up top is unfair and stupid to be honest, yes he's a new lad but when Rooney is put up there he is given the benefit of the doubt because we know it's not his natural position the same should go with Carlos. He looked a lot better when Saha came on against both Sunderland and today against Everton. I agree completely. It's way too early to judge Tevez especially with him playing out of position, I just don't quite understand how people can expect him to come to a new team and new position and start scoring goals galore a few matches in. I find this criticism as silly as England supporters who complained about Rooney not performing well when Sven placed him up front by himself. Let's reserve judgment on Tevez until he plays his natural role, and while it can be said that he's running around all over the place at least he's trying. When Saha's back and Tevez is playing behind a striker then we'll see what he can or can't do.

For the moment I'm going with the phrase - keeping us in the hunt. I know we can and will play better. I suspect we're already seeing the best of Liverpool and Arsenal, so as long as we can keeep snapping at their heels we're doing OK. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to the Chelsea match - I don't even know why I'm looking forward to it, chances are it'll be a rather dour affair, I've just got this idea it could be something more.

Well, put it this way. We're playing badly and winning. So imagine when we start performing and winning. I can take a few positives if u ask me. I think Tevez played his heart out ( despite what everyone says ), i thought his overall play was really good ( the pass for Scholesy's miss was quality ). Vida was my man of the match easily. Besides the goal, he was immense at the back. 1 - 0 , difficult game...Bring on Chelsea

Yer i think weve done well to come through this period but the end of 'this' period has to be the chelsea match. Because its a must win. We Have to beat them to establish ourselves and really get into gear and im confident we will with the team we are getting now. Glad to come through the last 3 games unscathed baring the silvestre injury and hopefully we can come out all guns blazing next week vs chelsea.....i wouldnt say ' bring it on' because id much rather prefer to play them in 2 months time but im still confident of a win

We won again and thank god for that. Ferdinand deserved praise today, he was immense. Tevez should not be criticized so quickly. Wait till we have a complete team and then we will see how good he is. If there is anything that needs to change in that team it's Giggs. Either play him where he can be effective or drop him because quite frankly speaking he is simply not upto the task. And waht on eatrh was Saha doing on the bench??? Any way, sometimes you just have to be patient to experience the best of things.

Im sorry but this is my personal opinion and in the last few games he didn't gave or maybe i should say he didn't had the same impact he had at WH..thats why im so upset..cos the player we seen last year is not the same we got now. Sure we have few problems and Tevez cannot show what he can do at 100%,but i still disappointed, and its not a matter of talking bad about him,it is just a pure and simple opionion.

But all i hope people remember is that it took Tevez about 5 months until he scored his first west ham goal. So never expect much from him too quick. He takes time to adapt to a new team...

of course it's your opinion kokka and your wholly entitled to one and i like to see other people's opinion on a matter, don't apologise i didn't take tevez until the last 10 games to feel completely comfortable with his new teammates so i would like him to be given more time and played in position for him to be judged accurately and fairly

tevez played well today, he didnt play up front today he was deeper, giggs was the furthest forward and was non existent, tevez played some great imaginative passes for evra and scholes, he worked hard and it wont be long before he is fully match fit, please remember he made a long journey back from australia during the week and anyone whos done that will tell you how much it messes you up, I love these people who make instant judgements on players, they never learn, the other year it was evra and vidic who were shit buys, they then have to come on and eat humble pie, saying that i dont expect i will have to taste it over carrick, again when things got tough in the middle scholes was tackling everything while carrick took the back seat, the bloke is a waste of space, please tell me what he contributed today that fletch or oshea couldnt do if fit

i listened to it on the radio and a lot of what I heard said was "scrappy" so I'll go with that consensus until I see the highlights. We got the win but I find it a bit disconcerting that we're not seeing more goals from the players whose job it is to get goals. I'm all for goal contributions from all over the pitch, so I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering when the strikers will ummm strike. They cant strike sat on the bench, saying that we only have one genuine striker and a load of widemen and inside forwards

Another thing i cannot understand(as u know im a girl ;D)why he played as midfilder and not as stricker? Im not saying he have too be quick to adapt but i think in a team like ours full of champions should be easier thats it.

Rubbish. Fairly even game, we never got into gear although at times we had some nice passing movements. I long for a nice open game.
Credit to: *Evra - Got forward very well all game. Not only was he useful as a wide option, he also used the ball well. *Rio - Not one bad step, and a great tackle near the end to save us. *Carrick - near perfect passing all game, got forward well and was not afraid to thread the hard balls through. Carrying on from his progression at the end of last season, it would be a very hard call to drop him. What a center midfield lot we have! *Tevez - some brilliant touches, used his skill, composure and strength well whenever he was pressured. Rarely lost possession, and got involved well playing as the deeper CF. Really showed his great talent for me.
Fookin' man up to: *Nani - Light, weak on the ball, can't remember him retaining possession. Good corner for the goal, but other than that worryingly ineffective. *Ronaldo - useless performance. Whined far too much, and went down far too easily. Was too slow on the ball, rarely found good positions and almost looked like he'd assume things would go his way so he didn't have to put in.
We had some good possession, but still far too slow generally. The biggest positive is our CB partnership., - it is immense. Everton never really troubled us. Rio was excellent. Nemanja Vidic is the best center back in the league. Perfect combination.
Ronaldo's yellow was all from his own making, - his reputation earned that for him. He did get hit (and went down too easily) but he has made his own reputation and fuck him if he's gonna complain about it but not clean himself up. I await for him to fix his attitude (after how many years?) and to improve his involvement and pace of action drastically.
I'll add that he is very quiet/ineffective far too often in the big games.
I expect Rooney back midweek so that he will be all good for Chelsea. I wouldn't mind Hargo to play against Sporting (with his Euro experience) and to keep either Scholes or Carrick fresh for Chelsea.
Overall, we were far too slow and very far off being in top gear. That said, we were top of the league...

Another thing i cannot understand(as u know im a girl ;D)why he played as midfilder and not as stricker? Haha you can be forgiven for that Tevez was playing behind the striker (giggs, then saha), and given license to roam and join the midfield to get possession. I do think he did a good job, put in, and is progressing. For me, he showed that playing just off the CF with a free role as he did this match (and also for Argentina during the week) is his best.
