As I said above, stats, which I'm now sick of talking about, don't tell the full story, don't take into account the risk of pass etc and I concede that. You obviously won't concede anything so this is really pointless so lets move on. We did draw 2-2 didn't we? Just from your above account it sounds like we were slaughtered. I know, and it was a good result that I'd probably have taken before the game but, I want to see more from UTD. I believe we're the best team in the league, because of our attacking insticnts, pace down the wings and passing ability. But we showed little of that, and too many times now against the big teams we set up soley to stiffle them and then try and counter attack. It was dissapointing to watch. Ok, in the best sense, lets agree to disagree. Alright? And I promise not to mention stats again, ok. Apart from Scholes!

Stats tell half the story. So you're both right, and both wrong Yeah, thats true. Stats don't take into account how difficult the pass was etc. I'm not a stats nerd, honest! I just don't think Hargreaves deserves the flak that seems to be coming his way after Saturday. Well being that you were responding to me, I want to be clear that I wasn't slating Hargreaves just disappointed we weren't passing as freely as Arsenal were going forward. I don't think you have to slate a player by critiquing the obvious. I agree with Nath about stats being misleading when they are not analyzed in context, which I think was the case with Hargreaves because we didn't see much going forward and if his passing success rate is for passes made back to defenders then it's not telling the whole story.

Is Hargreaves the kind of player that's going to play the killer balls though? To instigate attacks? Is it his game? I thought it was ok him giving it to Anderson and letting him pass it. II think he himself said something like his job was to win the ball and give it guys like Scholes. I don't know, maybe I didn't notice Hargreaves passing as much on Saturday because I was watching his defensive work, which was excellent. I guess the counter-arguement is that a Utd midfielder should be able to do more than just play the holding role....

I don't like to be a fuckin prig but at least all of their players could pass the ball around, not Hargo I though! The first half I thought we looked pretty nervous on the ball and couldn't get much going, but after Arsenal equalized in the second half we looked much better and the passing that lead up to Ronaldo's goal was great. Yeah I'm pleased with the passing of the team I just thought that in that particular game (not for the first time) Hargreaves and his passing stood out from all the Arsenal/United players in a negative way! He's not adaptet to the tempo yet (It doesn't mean I want him to play killer passes). If what I'm saying is true or even half true he shouldn't be questioning the quality of the football of Arsenal and now showing disrespect to our next opponent!

Fuck sake, you lot are doing my head in. He's no fucking creative midfielder, is he? He's a ball winner, the one who does all the running around and causing choas and disrupting the flow of the opposition. He does that brilliantly.
And so what if he passes back and sideways? It's what he's meant to do. He can hit the ball nicely if he's got time and space, but it's a tactic to give it to the playmaker, which is normally Scholes, and let them pick out better passes and options.
And the stats mean something, although shadow a lot of things.

We did play well and we got a draw at the emirates (even though we were robbed). We are still a bit scrappy at the back and ferdinand keeps making silly mistakes. When Arsenal come to Old Trafford, the floodgates of hell will open and release the Mighty RED DEVILS............. Come On United !!!
