Saha can fuck right off as far as I'm concerned. Dong's shite, but at least he'll put some effort in.

We're already through, so I'd go for.. Kuszczak
Simpson - Pique - Ferdinand - Evra
Ronaldo - Carrick - Anderson - Nani
Tevez - Saha Give Saha some more match time should be good - hopefully it'll help him get back to his best, and letting Nani and Ronaldo against their former clubs should be good too. Maybe bring on Evans, Dong, or Eagles. Something like that.

I pretty much agree with that line-up Dizzy, but I think I'd play Hargreaves instead of Carrick. He needs playing time to get back to his best, and he still hasn't made his debut for us in Europe I don' t think.

This is a great opportunity for the youngsters so I'm all for playing as many as we can, though I don't want us to not take the match seriously. If Nev is fit he should play to get back in the swing of things too. The fact the match will be at OT is an edge that the youngsters should have too. Your lineup works for me, though I too would like to see Hargreaves in a CL match.

PIG
Brown - Rio - Vida - Evra
Ronaldo - Anderson - Carrick - Nani
Teveth - Saha I want us to make sure of first place by putting out a strong starting XI. If things are going well, throw in some youngsters.

We want to top the group so I'd go with that side, but maybe Pique playing. Be good for the lad to get back out on the pitch after the Bolton game. Good for his confidence.

i think we can go with a 4-4-1-1 this time. i think we should play with saha alone up front, and then anderson under him with ronaldo and nani on the wings and more attack minded, and fletcher carrick in the middle as they tend to be great in the middle at home in the CL but just let some of the youngsters to get experience and just enjoy the game simply

Don't think Gary would be thrilled about bein at left back. Not John's fav position either really.... Eagles on the wing and that midfield in general would leave us very vulnerable. We'd get trashed playin that side against a team like sporting. I'm all for givin the kids a chance, but losing 10-0 to Sportin would prolly do them more damage then good. Introduce a couple of youngsters and reserves at once, don't make up a team of it. Didn't work against South End, Didn't Work against Coventry, would completely and totally humiliate us against SPorting.

Ya I just figured with so many players having picked up knocks over the international breaks Fergie would rest some of them. I figure Ronaldo might start but it doesn't make sense to play him, right now if he is already a little hurt, and we have qualified, same with Vida. Though i agree with the midfield, i really didn't think that true, now that i look at it again.

Being first in the group is vital as we would get the 2nd leg on the knockout round at Old Trafford. So Fergie should field a strong starting 11. Also we dont wanna be going into the last matchday having to win to finish 1st in the group at Roma.

SAF should pick his strongest starting 11 on Tuesday; remember that we don't play Fulham until the following Monday evening, thus giving the team a week to recover. Why should we risk defeat just to give reserve players a chance to be humiliated? Remember Coventry?! Sporting are a little better than Coventry methinks! By all means put the likes of Simpson, Eagles, and Dong on the bench, but start with a strong team. Sporting are a good team and will come to OT to win; they want 2nd place, however unlikely.

Remember the United side at Stamford Bridge last season after the league was won? Keiren Lee Chris Eagles Dong Kuszczak O'Shea K.Richardson Fletcher Just some of the weakened lineup who played and drew 0-0 Don't get me wrong i agree with you, but Fergie has been known to do a stupid thing or 2 in his time, it paid off last season and this is the only opportunity United will get to field a weakened side in the Champions league for a while, because i don't fancy our kids going to Rome and coming out the same, do you?
