Well, thank feck for that! Top of the group and no pressure for the final game; which is fortunate as we have the dippers a few days after.
Not a good 1st half, but the substitutions certainly helped.
Saha was poor. He needs to up his game soon; and what better chance with Fulham and Derby visiting OT in our next two games. If he cannot score against Derby, then he has no hope. We've been so eager to see him back in the team, and now he's back we slate him for being cock! Hopefully, some goals against Fulham and Derby will boost his confidence.

Great game. I bet i wasn't the only one cheering Owen on over that free kick hehe i take it all back now!
Performance was much better second half especially with Giggsy and Tevez on.
Didn't like O'Shea at right back though.

1 - how rubbish is Fletcher ? 2 - AT BLOODY LAST RONALDO PUT IT IN .. i was screaming for Hargreaves to take it.. i ate my words and screamed out ! 3 - Saha.. i dunno man.. this guy seems like a dying player.. 4 - Loved the 2nd half performance and looking forward to our reserves and hopefully there will be no United fans (avoid violence ! ) in Roma in 2 weeks. 5 - Evra = Player of the season so far for me 6 - Vidic is SUPERMAN ! No doubt about that !

Was Just a Case we won last year? "Watching the game(only the second half) i was wondering if what happened last year has been just a pure and simple case of luck for us winning trophies again!
What im trying to say is this!
With the start of the new season we've had or suffered-call as u want-with a lack of formand weith all those damn injuries problems, which still have.
How do u guys really see our season so far...By the way i know its too soon to judge but i think we can have a small judgment anyway.
I mean do u believe the form who help us last year winning the title and reaching the semis will be back soon?
I know defeats are part of the game, and you can't win all the time; But sometimes we suffer defeats who makes me worry a bit. I believe is right to think about these things(even though at the start of the season i was in the front line saying we're going to win everything) before starting to think we're unbeatable, and try to be honest enough to say that maybe we won't win nothing if we keep losing points with small teams at home.
I hope our confidence back on track very soon, cos i want people get scared when they know they're coming to play at OT ,not taking anything for granted.
I hate see the frustration in our players cos is the first factor who makes u do mistakes sometimes no big mistake, but silly enbough to lose a game.
I can't comment the first half but watching the second half i saw a lot of frustration on the pitch, maybe bcos the guys didn't get the result they wanted to get, like winning the game.(we were 1-1 when i wrote this)
Goaaaaaaallllll Ronaldo guys!!! what a player!!!
Ok now i feel like an idiot cos we won the game but i think the problems still there.
We have to avoid silly mistakes especially with smallest teams."
P.s Kakà best player in the world my arse!!!
That boy Ronaldo Makes Everybody Look Shite ;D
P.p.s Sorry if i posted here i wasn't sure was the right place or not

I was so worried during the first half most, we had no motivation. Tevez was definately the force in the second half. Fletcher looked shit, and Anderson didn't have the same effect that he usually does. Finally Ronaldo scores off a free kick.

Sporting surprised me, I knew they were a good side but not that good. I'm surprised to see them lower than Roma as I think they're better than them. Maybe the inexperience is letting them down?
Man of the Match has to be Evra or Ronaldo, constant threats all day. I just had a feeling Ronaldo would come up with the winner, I didn't expect it from a free kick though.
ELEVEN goals already, fuckin' hell he'd doing well this season. Who said he can't hit higher than the twenty three last season - and what a goal too. FIVE goals this month from four appearances, just what we missed against Bolton.
Tevez's goal was good for his confidence after the miss against Bolton, a goal poachers goal which he deserved as he changed the game for us.
I want eighteen points, I don't know if it's ever been done, can't remember it being done and I would love it. So let's go all out for victory in Rome.
FOLLOW FOLLOW FOLLOW COZ UNITED ARE GOIN' TO MOSCOW!

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S wonder goal clinched a Champions League top spot for United last night.
The Portuguese winger could not contain his delight after a stunning free-kick two minutes into stoppage time.
Ronaldo said sorry to Sporting fans after he sunk his former club in Lisbon in September. But he insisted: “This time was different. We needed to win the game to finish top of the group. That was very important to us.
“Sporting know this and they know I respect them. But now my club is Manchester United. I like Sporting and they like me — that doesn’t change.
“I practise those free-kicks all the time and hit it just right.”
United boss Alex Ferguson added: “He has the quality to do things like that and change the course of a match in an instant.
“It was an important win because it means I can afford to rest a few players for our final group match in Rome. I probably won’t even take a few of them over there.”

@ Kokka: I get what you're saying, but there's no way we were just lucky last season. The lads had nothing to lose then, and they just got more and more hungry as the season went on. This season we're under pressure, cuz evry1 knows we'll be up there (unlike last year when the bunch of cunts thought we'd finish 4th ). We have a title to defend, and it tests if we still have that hunger for more.

Poor first half, better second half. Kuszczak was caught napping for the first goal, but in the end we got the job done. Tevez came through for us which was great and Ronaldo gets a free kick; it's good teams that can turn an otherwise bad performance into a win so well done.

When Ronaldo stepped up I said, Holy Crap.
I gladly ate my words.

Tevez changed the entire face of the game, he just never stops working. Kuszak looked a bit nervous for some reason, he has been good the entire season when he has played. The Roma game is going to be boring with neither team looking for much, with everything already settled.

tbh i feel abit bad for sporting. im happy for that brilliant goal ronaldo scored. but tbh first half sporting were great, but we were great in the 2nd. and i think draw would be fair. but now we can certainly give simpson, pique and eagles the chance to play away and gain some real valuable experience

I'm genuinely worried about Saha. That's the 3rd game running he hasn't really shown any hunger for the game. Contrast Louis's demeamor to that of Tevez when he came on. Not good. On another note, Veloso was really impressive for Sporting, great positional sense, very disciplined. He'll join us in the Summer I'd say. Looks like a great young player.
