I would play
------------------------------Kuszczak
Simpson--------------Rio------------Pique----------O'shea
Eagles--------Fletch----------Hargreaves--------Carrick--------Nani
----------------------------------Saha
Bench: VDS Brown Evra Ronaldo Giggs Tevez Anderson
That team should be strong enough to win plus it's giving some players a run out like Simpson and Fletch and giving other players a rest.

4-5-1 4 4 2 please ! I would rather play 4-4-2 but i think we should give Tevez a rest and Dong just isnt good enough so we're only really left with Saha as a striker so it would be a 4-5-1 on paper but we can make it as attacking as we like.

...........................Kuszchak
........Simpson Pique Rio Evra
Ronaldo Hargreaves Fletcher Nani
..........................Anderson ...............Saha
I thinkk Nani and Ronaldo would like to play against their old teams. Maybe bring Nev on if he's OK for the second half. If we're cruising give a few more youngsters a run out. Dong or Eagles. I think that Anderson is a CM mainly but heard he can play as a second striker very well so I thought he could have a chance there and move back if we bring Dong or Tevez on. Hargreaves, I want to see him used in Europe. Some may say too many youngsters but seriously, people, they have got experience and they need more. With Nani Ronaldo Saha Hargreaves Anderson Rio Evra of the first 11 there I think we should get through it with a win. They say we need to win, definitely but this is the easier of the 2 so I would rather the youngsters got experience here than vs players like Totti Mancini etc...
Prediction 2-1 Anderson and Saha to score them.

2-0 United, Ronaldo to score again. Kuszczak
Simpson - Ferdinand - Brown - Evra
Ronaldo - Anderson - Hargreaves - Nani
Tevez - Saha Vidic can have an extended break, imo. I'd like to see Anderson start, his performance on as a sub on Saturday deserves it. Be nice to have Ronaldo back but with United qualified and a few of the Sporting Lisbon players have something to prove. For that reason I think it'll be tight, Ronaldo and Saha to score in a tight contest.

We definitely need two strikers up top and Saha needs to get playing time without a doubt. Giggsy should have a break and no need to rush Vidic. If Anderson plays as well as he did against Bolton I can see this being a high scoring game. Ronaldo for a hat trick! ;D

I wonder why Fergie announced earlier than usual. Hopefully Nani and Ronaldo have a good game, and their is more of a competitive feel to this game, the game against Dynamo was really boring.

Hi, Being a Sporting fan myself, and though this time we are adversaries, i think Manchester will win in a relatively calm way. I hope we don't get humiliated, but sometimes, when a team has no pressure to win, the effect might be very positive. As some of you have already said, it's a good chance to put in the least used and younger players, hehe. Sporting is going through a lack of confidence these days, due to internal bad results which are putting us too far from the top positions. It's not, definitely, a good moment to visit Old Trafford. Sporting's manager, Paulo Bento, has said that the players, above all, should dignify the club and enjoy the opportunity of playing in Old Trafford. It's a game between friendly clubs and gentleman and i honestly hope that we'll have a good match and may the most deserving team win. Good luck guys.

^ Bento seems to be a good manager even though at 38 years of age and nearly no experience at all to start with, he really has some sense about football. he might become one of the bigger managers in a few years time.

I hope so. In Portugal it is said that Paulo Bento belongs to a new wave of young managers with similar working philosophies, started by Mourinho, but hopefully with a easier temper. hehe. Paulo Bento was pulled from managing the youngsters to the main team and we canĀ“t ask much more of him. The objective, as already said by the club President, is having the stability and work space in the same way that Sir Alex Ferguson has had in Manchester (exact words). And sorry for the offtopic. nice start, hehe.
