I respect other opinions but I didn't see any other way. I watch alot of football and I know where our top level is and I know when the team doesn't meet that. as most do.

I respect other opinions but I didn't see any other way. I watch alot of football and I know where our top level is and I know when the team doesn't meet that. as most do. You have to imagine that most people on here watch a lot of football, and most people on here have a good idea of what our top level is. It's rather insulting for you to claim that because people don't agree with your view point, they are simply not brave enough to admit it I just watched the highlights on MOTD2 and my point of view is still the same. We weren't wonderful, but we weren't crap.

I thought we were pretty good today, we just lacked that final ball at times. There was a lot of good football, and good build-up but we just weren't sharp enough in front of goal for me.

That was good enough.
Not a vintage performance obviously but its 3 points against a useful side. We bossed the game and everton got what they deserved.
People complaining about the manner of the victory should get a grip. If you watch a lot of football you will know that all of our title winning campaigns have had plenty of results ground out like this. If we win the title I doubt the fact that we didn't steamroller everton at home will tarnish the experience for me.
I couldn't believe there were complaints about our performance against Liverpool....It was 3 points at anfield...thats really all you need to worry about. If that isn't enough for you you don't really understand the rivalry and what it means.

At this stage of the season it's the 3 points that are crucial and champions grind out results, even when not playing to their full potential. I thought we had some good spells and some pretty ordinary ones today (and didn't I say earlier that Cahill was a worry - fucking Aussies ) One thing to be grateful for, if it had been CR brought down instead of Giggsy then I doubt we would've got the penalty. I don't think the ref was particularly well placed to judge and I didn't see the assistant's reaction (did he flag?) If he didn't I reckon Everton would have been given the benefit of the doubt.

yeah rooneys hit earlier from the free kick was unlucky not to stay under the crossbar. we did attack very well in the second half.
the most important thing in this match was how we responded when everton came out with power. they almost took the match in the first minutes of the second half. it tells numbers of that team because they did not let that get to them.
when everton attacked, we countered. when we attacked, everton defended. thats what makes us champions.

Can anyone please teach our mate in goal today how to kick? That was quite comical, but scary at the same time because it's when clearances aren't made properly that we can find ourselves in trouble. Granted that one wasn't going to pose a problem but you have to wonder how comfortable he really is when the pressure is put on him like that.

So much negativity after a win; what would this thread have been like if we had lost!?! However, it was not a 'classic' performance by any means; TK cannot kick a ball, O'Shea just kicks the ball to where he thinks a red shirt should be, Carrick lives in a slow motion world, and Brown is clumsy. On a positive note, I thought Giggs played well and our attacking football was stunning at times. Perhaps we were a bit sloppy and greedy in the final third; however Everton did defend pretty well. Overall, it's 3 points in the bag; which is what the Xmas programme is all about. Don't forget that Arsenal had a very fortunate win against Spurs on Saturday; a match they could/should have lost 3-1. At this time of the season, with such a hectic schedule, there is plenty of rotation, so there will be more days like this. Happy Xmas to you all anyway!!

Can anyone please teach our mate in goal today how to kick? I swear to God I was yelling that freakin pollock to grow some bloody balls and not be so bloody nervous when he had to clear. And other than some very unfortunate mis-placed passes I thought we played well. It would have been wonderful if we had annihilated them, but we played against an in-form aggressive Everton....and we won, so yeah...am happy! Would have loved to see a Rooney goal...that lad deserved to get one against them scousers!

Looking forward to people like Foster, Park, Scholes and Nev coming back. Also still think we need another striker, another option.
Really think we've missed Nev's professionalism and leadership and Park's work ethic will be good for the team over a busy period, it's just what you want at this time of year.
Thought Giggsy played really well yesterday, but only after being moved into center mid. I wonder if him carrying the captaincy has stopped Ferguson subbing him on occasion when he's been crap. Seems to have hurt United this season as when they need pace on both wings everything ends up going through Ronaldo whilst Giggs wonders, or they start hitting it up high to the 2 resident midgets up top, having said that Rooney's getting pretty good at competing for headers.

Not a bad win. Evertons first defeat in 12 games so it was never gonna be easy. Our defence looked shaky and im glad Vidic was there. O'Shea wasn't great when he came on. Cant understand why Simpson went off. Micheal Carrick had a stinker and you could see how happy the crowd were when he went off for Saha. Howard Webb was shit too. Throwing out bookings everywhere. They should just make the tackle illegal and be done with it. Alot of people in the media seem to be praising Everton for there display and its annoying me. People saying they deserved a point yet nobody is saying we deserved a win. Defensively they played well, but in the second half there attacking play was minimal. We had 20 shots, they had 4. If it wasn't for the fact that we got a late winner, nobody would be saying that Everton deserved a point. Now Spurs are a team that did deserve to pick up some points this weekend. The Arsenal media wankfest continues.

Yea Rooney Is really improving when it comes to winning the ball in he air. I think we missed Rio yesterday, we didn't have anyone to bring it out from the back so when Brown or Vidic had possesion more often than not a hopeless long ball was played.

I do agree that rooney is winning and competiting alot better in the air but I would rather him come on to knock downs. I wish someone would play on the shoulder more sometimes tevez and rooney are in so many positions. If you look at our attacking line it must be a nightmare to defend against. Everyone is everywhere, ronaldo is a good example left and right midfield plus joining as a second striker at times. I do miss a top no 9 in there though. Thats why I was dissappointed missing out on torres, he would of been perfect.

I still think we were poor and missed Hargreaves hustle and bustle in midfield.
