That was hard watching, being a Cotto fan and all that, but he has some cahonnies he got pummeled for 10 solid rounds and never give in, exceptional, he is a beast. Manny was devastating, ruthless. BUT, im just wondering would this have happened to Cotto pre margarito? i dont think so. He looked drained or something from about the 4th round his punches had no zip, no power, it was like he was going into Spar. Disappointed in his actual boxing, but impressed with his ability to stick at it. The big question now will Manny vs Mayweather happen? This would be the biggest fight since Leonard vs Hearns/Hagler imo, forget Tyson vs Holyfield, they were shot by the time they fought. Im talking about the two best fighters in the world without question fighting each other, its all guna come down to the $$$$$$$. Who gets more. Personally i like this agreement that has been branded about, both fighters go in 50 - 50 in the pot, whoever wins takes the 60 - 40. In regards to the fight, i think floyd would be too defensively sound for him. Those shots that were going through cottos gloves last night, would not happen against mayweather, and when shots are missed by pac he'll be made to pay for it. That being said will mayweather have ever fought someone with the speed, technical ability,. determination and strength of Pac? He dismantled Judah who had speed, dismantled Gatti who had all the determination in the world and he dismantled De La Hoya who had technical ability and strength. But never a fighter with all this rolled into one. Bring it fucking on i say!!

Why do you think it took Mayweather so long to beat Hatton in comparison to Pacman who KO'd Hatton second round? I'm not really into boxing as much as you probably but I have seen a few of these fights. Mayweather/Pacman is definitely one I will want to watch.

Lot of things came into play there mate. When Mayweather fought Hatton, Hatton still had his unbeaten record on the go, was still with his old trainer etc. Plus mayweather is more methodical as opposed to the explosive pacquiao. Mayweather would size you up for about 3 rounds, look for weaknesses and then go on and exploit them, whereas Pacquiao would go for the kill straight off, two entirely different fighters. With Pacs fight with Hatton, Hatton came in with the mindset of a novice. Hands down, chin in the air, going in all guns blazing. I box myself mate, and if im sparring and i leave my chin up and hands down, i get punished simple as. You look at that ko punch from pac against hatton, hattons hands were near down waist height, poor stuff from someone going for a P4P title. Plus before Pac/Hatton there was alot of discontent within Hattons camp, Mayweather Snr apparently wasnt showing up for training sessions etc. Lot of things came into play in that fight.
ill give you a good comparison mate, Pacquiao would be like the United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Brazil, Spain of Football, sucessful and pleasing on the eye, go for the jugular style football. Mayweather on the otherhand would be the AC Milan, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Germany, Italy of football, patient, sometimes boring but brilliant technically and defensively. (im not talking about teams at present, but mainly teams of the past and the clubs/countries tradition)

Thanks for the information, I somehow gathered from your posts that you might know a bit about it all. It is still amazing to me how Hatton succumbed to Pacquiao in the manner than he did. Its really hard to choose a potential winner between pacman and floyd but I don't believe I would be wrong in thinking it will be one of the biggest fights in my lifetime.

Haven't seen it yet, but heard he did him in the last round. Did he give him a proper pummelling throughout? mate it was ridicoulous a total mismatch he could have knocked him out in 6 but really i think he felt bad for him.

coogie mate your spot on, the fact that when cotto punched he looked like he had no power was so baffling, realistically its not just the margarito fight (by the way boxing failed bigtime as the guy should have had a 2 year ban at the least) cotto has been in ways and his corner is a joke, why they let the man get pummeled for so long is criminal, all this warrior talk is rubbish, he is human and has a wife and family he should have been pulled out. floyd manny is the match, floyd will have to counter this guy all night cos he's a big puncher, floyd aint, i feel floyd has not only the brain but the mental nerve to o in and not get thrown off his game, i look back at the judah fight where it looked like judah was the better in the early stage, floyd stuck to his game, used his brain and made some slight adjustments. im not a betting man, but just for the critics to finally give the man his due and cos i love his skills i hope floyd wins, then really he has nothing to prove. cotto/floyd cant happen now, it would be like when he fought the warrior gatti.

im not really into boxing but i do follow danny green i was just wondering how widely known he is and how big his upcoming bout with roy jones jr is around the world its being called the biggest fight in australian history but to be honest boxing isnt a major sport in australia just wondering if you know about the fight and who you are predicting to win

Hey man sorry for the late reply on this. TBH i can't really tell you much about Danny Green, but that was a stunning victory against a future Hall of Famer, however Roy Jones Jnr has long been passed it and i wouldnt look too much into it. If it was the RJJ of 92 - 97/98 i dont think Danny Green would have been able to touch him. Put it like this, imo he was the best boxer period in the 90's in any weight division, thats how good RJJ was. Go on youtube look up some clips of RJJ in his prime, the guy was pure electric, he had everything, power, speed, determination, but his best attribute was his unorthodox style, amazing. I think he should have retired after the Calzaghe fight. I think age has definitely caught up on him. I think the reason why that was being billed as the biggest fight in Australia was because green was fighting one of the greatest fighters of the modern era, but as i said Jones has laced up the gloves one too many times now, and that defeat was always guna happen.
If your an Aus and like boxing i would keep my eye on Michael Katsidis. Ive never seen anyone with the endurance this guy has, not the greatest boxer in the world but he can scrap and just keeps punching and punching and punching and never seems to get tired.

Floyd V Manny Biggest fight of this century. It will happen and when it does. WOW i expect fireworks, both have chins, but their styles are so contrasting. Floyd countering and Manny working so hard All day. I can't wait for this to happen!!

Coogie Why do you think it took Mayweather so long to beat Hatton in comparison to Pacman who KO'd Hatton second round. I would say the answer is quite simple. Hatton decided it would be a good idea and employ the 'rocky defense' In other words dont defend keep your hands down and let the other guy pummel your face. Unfortunalty for Hatton, unlike Rocky, in the real world this means you lose very quickly.

Have to say, glad to see Carl Froch get whipped against Kessler last night.. I think he's at best a commonwealth level fighter, not world class by any means!!!
BTW the one more week to MAYWEATHER VS MOSLEY!!! This one is going to be either awesome or extremely boring, with mayweather dictating the entire fight!
