I agree with you to be honest Brett, but the rules are there, not only set by ROM but also Proboards. United4lyf was only doing what she's supposed to be doing in telling you so. Rise above it and tell him/her how you feel in a way which isn't as abusive - you'll look a lot better.

Look I could have my say but I'm not going to bother posting on this site in future so there'd be no point.

So Ronaldo watch has turned into a bitching session! In my opinion he's the greatest player we've ever had, and I'll miss him and respect him for everything he gave us over the years.

Don't think there's anything wrong with respecting the class of the man. Very few ex-United players continue to get the plaudits of Sir Alex once they leave, but the gaffer has nothing but good things to say about him.
Plus, as we're well aware, many players these days show little or no respect for the former club that made them great after they transfer. Christiano has conducted himself admirably since his departure, talking mainly about his love for United and the fans.
Personally I see nothing wrong with keeping an eye on him and wishing him well, in the same way as any other player who did good for us and then showed some respect afterwards.
If we drew Real in the CL then I'll be the first to applaud him onto the field. This would be with the complete awareness that he'll attempt a dive to get a penalty against us, roll around on the floor to waste time, and probably get Rooney sent off again. I'll then piss, moan, and spit the most acerbic vitriol I can come up with at him for the full 90. And then, win or lose, I'll probably applaud him off the field again.
He was class, for us, and should be remembered so.
PS: I wanna make myself clear though, that I do not agree with anyone who implies that the squad didn't pull their socks up until Ronaldo left. This is bullshit. Fergie knew we had the world's best player, and so built the team to play to his strengths. Now he's gone so things have changed.

I think rax summed it up quite nicely.I do not have an iota of bitterness towards ronnie.Even though he was never my favourite player(that was wazza),i do acknowledge that we were priviledged that we got to see one of the greats of this era in action for 6 seasons. He was a class act, always gave his 100 percent for us.He was the catalyst which saw us claim 3 titles and a european cup. Will i may not classify him as a legend,he is right up there with our top ten players of all time.If he plays against us,i will certainly applaud him onto the pitch. He deserves a great reception if and when he comes back.Even though i as a fan have moved on,i still wish him well.Hope he has a great carrear at madrid and hope he becomes what he was always destined to become....VIVA RONALDO!!

Two goals on his return from suspension, that's 17 goals in 17 games for Real Madrid now. Still the best player in the World.

He is probably the greatest legend to play for Manchester United in my view He's certainly not that in my mind. Duncan Edwards, George Best, Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, Peter Schmeichel and Roy Keane are all real United legends. In my mind, Wayne Rooney is a better player than him.

Ronaldo isnt a united legend period for me, it takes more than being a great player to be regarded as a legend at a club.
infact calling him a legend is a tad bit of an insult to the true legends from our clubs history.
great great player. definately. legend? definately not.

I agree, Peejay. Don't get me wrong, he was a fantastic player for us, no doubt about it, but his attitude could sometimes leave a lot to be desired.

I like this idea top top player scored some stunning goals for united as for his petulence etc how many times did you see him getting hacked down and get fuck all protection from the ref ?The other thing about ronnie and his time at united was the lack of injuries he had the guy is awesome first time i seen him wearing that kit i felt like i was being cheated on.Fucking united wannabes i hate em

Here it is
I miss him flying down that touchline!! I was at the Portsmouth game where he scored 'that' free kick, in the east stand, just about in line with it, and it was a pleasure to be there. I'd say that only his Porto goal was better.
We have to move on, but you can't forget him. He was brilliant for us and shown us nothing but respect since he moved. Could have handled things a little better when he was with us, but I'm over it now.

Fantastic free kick - wish we had him for those and threat on corners. Biggest weakness in our game.

Fantastic free kick - wish we had him for those and threat on corners. Biggest weakness in our game. So true. We dont really have a free kick taker at the moment.
