The James - Scholes comparison has been doing the rounds for a while now. He could turn out to be the best replacement for Scholesy in the long run.

The James - Scholes comparison has been doing the rounds for a while now. He could turn out to be the best replacement for Scholesy in the long run. This is why I feel that Sir Alex has found the right players to replace the older generation in the long-run. I am pretty certain that Matty has been learning off Scholes for a long-time now, which is a positive. This is why the older generation can still be useful, even if they are not playing because of injuries. All they have to do is pass on their knowledge that they possess. Like a 6th dan Karate instructor who has done it all, and plays by the rules. He will teach his students likewise thus they will become the same, a clone if you will.

Ok there is too many players being compared to Paul Scholes. The comparisions are just be flung around. I have only heard Sir Alex say that 'the days of Scholes scoring 15+ goals are gone, Tom can take that responseibilty on if he come into the first team' or something like that anyway. But he was basically saying that if anyone is to replace Scholes it is Tom. And I accepted that.
While waiting for kick of in the Aviva I was reading the program I was then greeted with comments from Sir Alex comparing Gibson to Scholes.
Now I know we are all keen and desperate to find a new Scholes or a play whom can bring something new but I personally don't think either of these players at this current moment have nothing on Scholes. Maybe in the future whom knows.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sir Alex starts to compare me to Scholes !

Matty James is a similar type player to Scholes though. He has a great passing range and likes a shot also, he has a great future ahead of him.

- King's goal vs Stockport (shit camera, but best there is so far)
- Looks like the PNE fans have taken to King already. "you greedy bastard" ;D
Tune in to BBC tonight at 23:15 for the football league show, all the goals from the Carling Cup.

IrishRed I wasn't directing anything at James I was just saying in general the amount of players being compared to Paul Scholes is ridiculous.
At there age Scholes had broke into the United team playing as a striker banging in goals. Not being loaned out to lower league clubs.

Fair point, it is ridiculous that Gibson is compared to Scholes, and also Cleverley as his style of play is very much different to Scholes.
Scholes is a one in a million player, so its not the end of the world James is on loan at a lower league club now. I feel he needs that bit more experience before he is ready to make a name for himself at United. Also playing well will get his confidence up, which is vital at such a young age.

Yeah the Gibson comparison is strange although I do think he will have a lot to offer United next season. Hopefully he can become a more all round player instead of just a shot head. Clevers should get a good shot in the first team and it's upto him to take it.
Your first few words are perfect Scholes is a one in a million player.
Haven't seen too much of James look forward to seeing him in the future hopefully.

Haven't seen too much of James look forward to seeing him in the future hopefully. Well, in liight of the recent speculation about him, and in line with my new "no transfer budget except the exact amount for Hernandez and Smalling" approach, i started playing Matty James in my FM game. He's bloody mint in that! Seriously, high hopes for James, looks the business at Preston. King too.

Anyone watching the Carling Cup goals on BBC? Matty James' goal was quality and his quick feet to win the penalty was brilliant. Great run from King aswell and maturity to square to a man in a better position. Nice tidy finish for his goal too. Great stuff all round.

Danny Welbeck in Sunderland having a medical this morning. Good news, especially with Jones going to Stoke, he's likely to get plenty of games this season.

Just hope he does not score against us !
