Smalling was signed in June 2008 by Fulham - it was MAY 2009 before he made his debut....and you expect Bebe to somehow magically do it in 2 weeks. FFS[/quote Well said SET!!! Come on. What is it with you people these days. (no racial undertone here)

WR, don't forget that hernandez only did that AFTER we bought him. Maybe in 2 years bebe will lead Portugal to the European cup. Have some patience people, give the boy a chance. And his record before he scored against France wasn't great? Name me one other English player other than Michael Owen to have scored against Argentina. Tell me, who was the last English player to score against France. The answer is Frank Lampard in 2004, the one before that was Michael Owen. Here comes an unknown player that Manchester United bought for a pittance, and according to some on here before the world cup, he has only scored against rubbish international teams. Then he manages to score against the ex- World Champions who have Ribery , World-class Evra, Gallas, Abidal in their team. He scores against an Argentinian side that boasted Heinze, Higuain, Messi et al. Now, I would prefer to say that at the money we paid for Javi, we have got a bargain.

Why does the last person to score against France make any difference?
We bought bebe for around the same amount as we bought Hernandez, so you can't really say anything about the price. And before we bought Hernandez had you ever heard of him? I highly doubt it.
Everybody was saying the exact same things when we bought chicha, and then he scores a few goals and suddenly everybody loves him. We learnt from that signing that we can trust fergie, but we have to have a little patience.
All I'm saying is give bebe the chance that you didn't give Hernandez.

Well, paying a transfer fee for someone who isn't nowhere near the Portugal national team is a bit ridiculous. You are right, I have never heard of Hernandez either, but that doesn't change a thing. Can you imagine a player from Carlisle getting into the England football team, no, I don't think you can. Note: Seen this? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torquay_United

Plus, would you trust Sir Alex to pay £7m for someone who played 3rd tier football? The Glazers must have lots of money if they are capable of throwing it away like that.

But we didn't get him from the 3rd division portuguese league, we got him from a 1st division Portuguese team, who got him from a 3rd division team.
And didn't smalling play non professional football a year ago? We payed £10mill for him, and he's nowhere near the England national team.

We got him from another Premier league club.

Exactly, that was my point... I still have my doubts on Smalling too, for someone who has only played a few games and we spend a fucking small fortune on him..Crazy!!!

I agree with you on doubt, but I'm still going to have some patience with both of them. After all, if you can't trust SAF who can you trust?

I don't think United can do anything right in the transfer market these days can they ?
Why are we constantly doubting players we haven't seen play a competitive match yet ?
Ok if they play and our bad then we criticize but till then I think I will reserve judgement.

lets face everyone we are in the LFC level of signings, sometimes you can spend 7 0r 9 mill and end up with Vidic and Evra or Kleberson!!! I mean Kleberson is world cup winner and he was fucking useless for us and I'm being kind with that assesment.
Its obvious the press are trying to have a bit of fun with Bebe and lets not forget he may now he think he's billy big bollocks, after all from 3rd div to 1st div in Portugal to UTD in less than two years is going to make you think you're a bit special and he's probably been given a reality check. SAF may have bought him without seeing him but he would have plenty of scouting reports to go off (and more than we've read of in the press) and I'd be amazed if all the 7mill has been paid, it will def' be linked to appearences. Will he make it? who knows but does anyone remember the two years when even UTD fans where doubting Ronaldos ability to make a sigificant impact, with people like hansen calling him a one trick pony, this is the same kind of crap.

on bebe his former club were punished thus theme being sent to the 3rd tier in portugal is was not because the team were that bad just due to financial reasons. fergie says all the talent is there its just the fitness level, we have to trust him on that, personally i didnt think we needed another winger i wanted a central midfielder but anderson will be fit and hopefully young cleverly will come through, my only hope for the rest of the market is we cash in on gibbo, dont think he will ever be good enough regardless of what people say in regards to fletcher and blooming late the big difference was fletcher was highly rated as a youngster and in each game he played there was improvement gibbo dont show that, right now we have to be prudent with our squad size and wages as we all know uncle malc is have some financial difficulties

Bebe is not a winger, he is a center forward or attacking midfielder. Depends on the definision these days.
