I'm sure we all have different tastes, so there's no right answer (there is really but I'll let you off  ) I'm a huge music fan so I'm trying to create more music discussion. Who gets your vote as the best British band ever? |

Iron Maiden for me. Over 30 years, 15 albums, most of them awesome, and they're still creating great music and putting on great live shows today. They're the opposite of a nostalgia act - their new stuff is some of their best material.
Best metal band ever but should be respected by everyone, and enjoyed by most (depending on what you're into, but I'm sure most people could find Maiden songs they like).

Everyone has an opinion on the best so its impossible to say who the best is unless you judge albums sold and the beatles are miles ahead. The beatles were pioneers in there time. There music catalogue was sold for millions. |

Everyone has an opinion on the best so its impossible to say who the best is unless you judge albums sold and the beatles are miles ahead. The beatles were pioneers in there time. There music catalogue was sold for millions. It is opinion, that's the point. Would be a boring thread if there was a right answer. I am not trying to say you're wrong, I'm just saying album sales, fame and even influence are not the be all and end all. If you prefer the Beatles to every other British band that's cool too. But I'd never judge a band on their size or record sales. |

Id listen to an oasis album before the beatles. Im not saying my favourite band is the Beatles, im just stating there huge sucess commercially and the high esteem there music is held in makes them a stand out. How many bands you listen to or know of that you can name every member of the band or would instantly recognise there name if you heard or saw it. Don't include the spice girls in that now ;D |
