I think it was BBC Sport who said that a few weeks ago we had a bid for Baines and Fellaini rejected.
We offered £28M for the pair. Yesterday we payed £27.5M for just Fellaini.
The deal is done. I guess there's no escaping it now. I wonder, if we would have signed Herrera. Would Fellaini even make the bench?

Sure, I think most of us try to avoid using Ferguson as a yardstick to evaluate Moyes, but here I just went the easy road to make a point about the influence that managers can have. Fair point, but Mourinho is oft cited as a power wielding manager, and he's been lumped with Shevchenko in the past. I think some people are over-estimating the power Moyes will have 10 weeks into a new job. Mourinho's never had power. He's Abramovich's bitch.

Sami Khedira has confirmed that Real Madrid turned down Manchester United’s €40 million offer for him before the transfer window closed.
Madrid, having signed Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur for a world-record fee, agreed to sell Mesut Ozil to Arsenal for €50 million on Monday, but United’s attempts to sign Khedira ended in failure.
“The club turned down the offer and that was it,” the 26-year-old told a press conference for the German national team in Munich on Tuesday. “We didn’t really have the chance to discuss it. I had a longer chat with Carlo Ancelotti a few weeks ago and it was relatively clear to me that I’d stay at Real.”
Khedira, 26, had joined Madrid in 2010 along with fellow Germany midfielder Ozil, and during their three years at the Bernabeu the pair formed a solid partnership on the field.
“Personally, I feel bad about Mesut’s transfer,” he said. “We are very, very good friends. “His departure is a loss also from a sporting perspective. Mesut can make the difference.”
However, he said the Arsenal move came as no surprise, adding: “I heard about this two or three days before Monday. Mesut had told me about it.”
Ozil, 24, has revealed he felt he had lost Madrid's trust and Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff, also speaking at the press conference in Munich, said he was delighted that the player had moved to London.
“He has signed for an outstanding club with a great coach, who knows how to work with young players,” Bierhoff said. “For his future sporting development, this is the right step. It is an important step for him, especially as it is a World Cup season.”

I cannot even begin to imagine what Moyes is going through now. The constant SAF comparisons is not going to help matters one bit. We need Moyes to be his own man and that's wont happen overnight.. He is going to make a few mistakes along the way, no doubt but so fucking what? Rome was not built in a day after all.. The wizard prob foresaw this and hence why he said what he said!! This is no top red sentiment or anything but it's a massive step up & Moyes has to be cut a lot of slack..

Hope we come to our senses before January or expect a £60m offer.

Sad thing is he isnt, hes getting slated and blamed already, christ Ive even seen people questioning Fergier reasons for choosing him. He's been in the job barely 2 months. This and all the summer shite has tested my patience. Clearly not doing well. He's not beyond fault but at least give him a fair opportunity before using him as the scapegoat for Woodward and co's failings.

40m for Khedira? I think he's a good player but fuck me...why didn't we just pay Herrera's clause then...or was this just another "let's make it look we have money for new players but we actually don't want to buy them because we'd rather put it in our pockets" bid?

It's a good thing. So people can finally calm down a notch.
