Yeah, Ronnie was having a wobble in the first few frames of the second session last night, and in the old days it could have easily led to collapse. But he sorted himself and won the trophy, which shows how far he's come. The Worlds isn't for him because it's so long but he's now won more UKs and Masters than anyone else which says a lot.
I think Hendry's 7 world titles are safe - maaaaaybe Ronnie equals it - but pretty much every record is surely Ronnie's now.
Saying all that, in fairness I think he had one of the easiest (on paper) runs to a triple crown final ever. Allen was the first quality player he faced really, though Ken Docherty did play like his old self for a while in the second round.

Won't be long before he gets his 1000th century either. The guy is simply in a category of his own though on that table.

Impressive from him today. Maybe the turning point in his career?

Impressive from him today. Maybe the turning point in his career? Saw him in person in his quarter against Selby. He looks a completely different player. Well, not completely - he's still one of the top 3 or 4 attackers in the game. But he's cut out the stupid shots. He turned down a couple of 50/50s in favour of a good safety in a way he never would have last year. Ronnie made a similar transition a few years ago, and whilst Trump won't match his success, he certainly could take himself to the next level. I almost backed him to win the tournament at 5/1 at the start; annoyed I didn't. I could easily see him winning the Worlds now. His problem will be the same as Ronnie's - whether he can keep his concentration over so many frames in two weeks. The temptation to go back to his old ways at one point or another will be strong.

We’ve seen this before from Judd. Next tournament he’ll be back to smashing balls into the crowd. The lads nearly 30, but they’ll still be calling him snooker’s next big thing in a decade.

Ronnie might lose to Cahill here. Ronnie was poor yesterday and today but in fairness Cahill has been excellent. He's an amateur but he's good enough to go on the tour and challenge, Ronnie wouldn't be the first big scalp he would have.

Ronnie looks uninterested. Always a danger with him at the Worlds.

Ronnie looks uninterested. Always a danger with him at the Worlds. Yep. Just stuck a fiver on Trump to win it at 11/2. I think it might finally be his year if he can play like he did at the Masters. Robertson is the other big name but the odds for Trump were better, and will shorten if Ronnie goes out here.

No idea what kind of form he's in this year.

No idea what kind of form he's in this year. He's talented but I think he'll fall to someone better. Decent odds though, he's good enough to mount a run, especially if Ronnie and one or two of the other top players play below their best.
