Like i said would love to see someone fill his boots for a whole season PL and CL
and captain the side
maybe 99% of UTD fans you know
evra would walk into any team inc real and barca
did anyone stop to think that the midfield is not doing there job as well and leaving the winger 1 on 1 with evra as we have all said and been crying out for a AM and CM to give the defence a break
everyone played shit against bilbao
i remember a lot of people saying the same shit about evans now everyone has changed there tune
just seems a bit fickle his service deserves our patience if we win the league he would have captained this side thats a big acheivment

My reasoning is not every game he has played this season has been shit as some are suggesting i think peple are remembering the bad more than the good
and in his UTD career the good far out wheighs the bad
example you say he was at fault for chelsea's first goal? which is harsh because it was not him who gave away possesion in the first place
but its funny you forget he won the first penalty in that same game to spark the possibly the best comeback of the season

I don't understand why you are writing all of your posts
like this
It makes things very weird to read as I can't help putting pauses into
the sentences everytime
you do a linebreak
Of course Patrice Evra has been class over his entire United career It is only recently he has been below par This and last season really
I'd make more counter-points to your assertions
but my head hurts.

No one here's knocking Evra, I think everyone recognises his contribution to our success in the last five years.
However, we're more than within our rights to say he's been sub-par for 18 months or so. He's been a lot better recently, had a decent game against Villa and was superb against Lennon vs Tottenham, so he's getting back to form.
Unfortuantely he's been a victim of his own very high standards.

Same goes for Hernandez.
No-one expected much from him last season, but he was phenominal - too much so. Now he has inadvertantly raised the bar for whats expected of him and hasnt been able to repeat last seasons heroics because so much more is expected from him.
If he had been just ok last season, the bar would have been raised, but not as much as it has.

I still think The Pea has had a decent season. He's in double figures for the season, which should be the aim for any striker at the beginning of a new season.

sorry about the way i write bestie, dont know why i do that?
fair enough on all your points just think everyones being a bit harsh but i do get it with evra. you all do have the right to say what you want its the whole point of a forum
just sounds like everyone now wants him replaced? thats fair enough but who can we realistically bring in at the moment ? who has actually got the pace and strengh to recover from their mistakes at LB for UTD against europes best midfield and foward players
the league thats fair enough we could put lets say a baines type but im just not to sure ?
its like that fergie saying Sometimes you look in a field and you see a cow and you think it’s a better cow than the one you’ve got in the field. It’s a fact, right, and it never really works out that way. It’s probably the same cow and it’s not as good as your own cow. Some players like to think there’s a better world somewhere else. It never really works.
i think this is how UTD fans at the moment feel about evra and other UTD players but i do understand everyones opinion on him so why wont SAF give fabio or jones a chance there? i personally think they would do fine? sorry bestie if my writing is still shit

Think the Pea has been slightly off form this season he doesn't seem as sharp as he was last season but thats to be expected. He hasn't had half as much game time as he did last season.

I don't want him replaced. I love Evra, genuinely. But I'd like some competition for him. If the boss doesn't think that's Fabio then someone should be brought in or promoted from within (Blackett).
If anything he must be exhausted so a rest now and again would only help Evra.

Little side story on Evra versus Lizarazu. BBC article: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24604591Guardian article: www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/20/france-patrice-evra-bixente-lizarazu-trampFrance's Patrice Evra told to explain why Bixente Lizarazu is a 'tramp'• French Football Federation and Deschamps demand answers • Manchester United left-back attacked three other TV pundits Patrice Evra has been asked by the French Football Federation to explain his outspoken attack on a host of pundits in a television interview. The Manchester United full-back labelled the 1998 World Cup winner Bixente Lizarazu and three other pundits "tramps" on the French TV programme Téléfoot. The group had criticised the impromptu half-time talk he gave his team-mates during the 2014 World Cup qualifier with Belarus in September when he was only a substitute. France ended up winning the game 4-2. Evra's comments came in the wake of the 3-0 win over Finland last week and the FFF has decided it requires an explanation. An FFF statement read: "Following the remarks made by Patrice Evra in an interview to Téléfoot after France v Finland, president Noël Le Graët and coach Didier Deschamps, while recognising that no attack was made against the FFF, the France team, the coach or the players, have decided to ask Patrice Evra to come to explain certain statements about the broadcasters." The 32-year-old had accused the pundits of deliberately trying to tarnish his reputation. He said: "There are some pundits with whom I will soon settle my differences … they want to sell a lie to the French people that Evra is disliked. But that is not the case at all. "I do not know what Lizarazu has against me. I was twice voted best left-back in the world, four times the best left-back in the Premier League. Him, I don't even know if he was ever voted best left-back in the world. "I recall my first call-up to the national side, all the others shook my hand apart from him. Thierry Henry said to him, 'Oh Liza, here is the opposition.' And Lizarazu looked at me and said, 'Why? Someone told you that I was already retired?'. "People have a good impression of me, it won't be these tramps who dirty my image. They must stop lying to the French people." Lizarazu responded by saying: "His first cap I was no longer even there [in the squad] and, yes, I was once voted best left-back in the world. He blames us for dirtying his image but he is doing a great job of it himself. As regards the timing, it sucks."

All seems very childish really. Why would the pundits criticise him in the first place?
Also, nice effort 'Lantas in digging up the old Evra thread instead of starting a new one. This is why when the Bans of Mass Proportions are handed out you'll be safe.

Apparently Pat's on his way in the summer due to personal reasons. This might explain why we pursued Baines so vigorously, as Pat said the club wants him to finish his career here, but "it's personal". sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/manchester-united-star-says-personal-reasons-mean-he-s-heading-foAfter a 17 minute rant, the France left-back was asked as a final question whether or not he was worried that he still hasn't signed a new contract with Manchester United (his current deal expires in June 2014). Here is the translated transcript of the last 30 seconds of the video: “Your contract expires in June 2014. Does this bother you?" "No, not at all. It's personal. It's not Manchester (United) that don't want me to sign a new contract. This whole thing is personal. Manchester United's dream is that I finish my career there, but this is something personal." "You can't say anything else on the matter?" "No."

Buy Shaw, forget Baines.
It'll be a shame to see Pat leave, but it if he wants to go and does it quietly/respectfully, then I doubt anyone will mind.
