This guy is just the natural long term replacement for Giggsy. Left wing, wicked left foot, pace to burn, skillful, great delivery, scores goals, Welsh!
hes young too, which is a bonus.
He will cost big bucks, but I reckon if Spurs dont get Champions League (with the rejuvenated arsenal and chelsea as well as their slide its possible) and with Redknapp fucking off, Bale may want out and this could drive the price down if he hands in a transfer request.
I know we just signed Young last summer but im not that impressed as yet. Just imagine Bale marauding down Uniteds left wing, Valencia on the other wing. Scary.

Well I reckon he'll leave when (if) Harry leaves, at least I hope so as I have a bet regarding it with my flatmate.
Maybe he is the left footed winger everyone's been crying out for, he's certainly PL proven and not a liability in that dept. A tad injury prone perhaps? Would cost an arm & a leg? Those are the only two negatives I can think of.
My one question remains, If we get Bale, do we then rotate 4 wingers? Young & Bale on the left and Tony V & Nani on the right? Come to think of it that looks pretty awesome, we'd be sitting with a wealth of talent on the flanks, which fits nicely with our general playing style, but no-one to throw the satelite passes out wide... I'd love Bale, as long as he's not the only central addition.

he will leave when spurs dont make the champions league. and he will cost a fortune with levy there. yes he would be a perfect replacement, but 4 wingers who would all want a starting spot wont work. i think for him to come in, then either young, nani or valencia would have to leave.

I'm quite happy with Nani, Tony V and Young to be honest. At the moment at least, our wingers aren't the ones up for selection to walk the plank. I'm all for going for Bale, my point is just that perhaps he's a luxury we can, at present, do without considering the more pressing positions that need strengthening. I'd probably go for a RB before another winger, maybe even a nice target-esque striker if that's the type we're looking at to replace Berba - If we're actually thinking of a replacement.

I'd be happy to see Bale purchased & I would play him @ left back. We have seen the best Evra.

There's better players we can and should be spending money on.

He's going to cost a bomb which automatically rules us out of the running, don't think we'll go for him because we can't afford him.
He would be and ideal replacement but the footballing world will be bidding for him.
He may not leave Spurs if Arry stays or even if he goes, if Spurs can attract a top manager then Bale might be convinced to hang on.

Bale, I'd stay away from him. If we move to sign him, it would be the most unnecessary and pointless signing we have ever made. We are blessed with a truckload of wingers, we have to show faith in them , because they are bloody talented. As tatty said, there are better positions to invest in if we plan to throw around 40 million quid. No thanks Gareth.

Bale will go to Barca. He will fancy his chances over there after all that has been written about him
EDIT - if we are spending daft money on any player it has to be Hazard or Gotze - they can both play out wide or in the centre so makes more sense. Especially as its a centre player we need not another winger.

YES to bale.
forget this 'we don't need another winger' stuff. it's not about being in the market for a winger - it's about going in for a player i consider a United player in the wrong shirt. We shouldn't have let him join spurs in the first place.
And yes he is the obvious long-term replacement for Giggs.
The odds are stacked against us to get him. Regardless of what redknapp does Levy will pull our pants down if we get into a bidding situation.
And apparantly barca see him as first choice to play at LB for them.
Again, it's shameful that he was allowed to leave saints and NOT be headed to old trafford. me and my old man watched him for southampton and knew he was going to be a top player.

I wouldn't say no to Bale, but i don't think we'll be getting him.
Firstly we'll probably be completely priced out of any possible move. Secondly i don't think we've a real interest in the first place.
