bale takes on a lot of responsibility for the side which is why he drifts about in search of the ball. if he was playing in a better side we'd see a better more consistent gareth bale IMO. we'd see the best of him at United. perfect platform for him
'he can't defend' - not the prerequisite ability for a barca full-back. too direct? - he can get involved in support play and knock the ball around, make no mistake. he'll get assists from the byline and he'll chip in with goals.

Yeah, he will. But Bale will want to do it in 2, maybe 3 passes. not 2 or 3 hundred. Around the box he would be lethal with the likes of Xavi and Messi, it's just getting there that could be the issue. Bale's style of play is too quickly get-to-goal-oppurtunity for Barcelona's style. That's what I meant. |

the player is good but he is far far overrated.
some of the comparisons are a joke, at the best he is tony v on the left at full pelt

For the record I think Tony V is too good for the Barcelona setup as well. (I only say "good", because I prefer Tony's/Bale's direct attacking football, before anyone gets in a flap.)

Well, he's just signed a new deal with Spurs until 2016, so I think we can rule this one out for the time being at least.

Wait, so you're relieved we won't be getting a player of Bale's quality? Even if he would be considered by some as excess to requirements he's a fantastic player and the type which our club should be aspiring to have playing every week. All I'll say is if we were interested, bleak, it's such a shame we have so many wingers else he'd have been huge at United. That said, a new contract doesn't rule him out of leaving Spurs, it just means they can negotiate a larger fee. |

i think they would have demanded maximum valuation for him anyway, so I don't think any potential transfer will happen because of the contract signing. Seems like he's clearly very happy there. I'm not too disappointed, very happy with our wingers.

While i am not a huge fan of Bale , our team's game play is more dependent on Wingers and overlapping full backs and i'd love if bale was to join us , One welsh for another going out.
However that said i still think that he is happy to stay at spurs , well at least for another year or two before he may decide to move on and i feel he is best suited for a team like us than Barca.
Spurs are becoming more like Chelsea aren't they , no manager , yet new deals, new signings in Vertonghen and possible Sahin for Modric
