There is no chance of this one happening.
Fergie pretty much said words to the effect of 'we are happy with the midfield'.

the thing is we are in for Moura/RvP. If we get one of them , IF , we will have enough to get the LB we need. So no more "Midfield" Signings. Also Sahin moving from Real would be very unlikely. He wanted to go there so its sort of his dream move and he hasn't really made a name and wouldn't want to risk being labelled a Failure. So he will stay for another year and see what happens. We may have a chance say during January or next season, not now IMO

Now being linked with season long loan at Arsenal ...I'd be so p****d if we haven't made any approach even if it's just for a loan.

Spanish sports daily As believes Nuri Sahin is set to join a "big team" in the Barclays Premier League on loan for the season. The move is apparently set to go through next week after an agreement was reached with Real Madrid for the midfielder. United, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been linked with the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Fcuk sakes, that probably only means Modric to Real with him moving the other way on loan.
It's like he's been dangled in front of our noses to annoy us :/

www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7942912/Wenger-No-Sahin-deal-doneArsene Wenger has dismissed reports that Arsenal have agreed a deal to bring in Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin on loan and insists he is not close to a new signing. Sahin has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League after starting just two league games for Real Madrid last season following his arrival from Borussia Dortmund. He was mooted as a makeweight in Real's bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric, but Sahin last month stated his intention to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Real coach Jose Mourinho confirmed earlier on Friday that it may be in the 23-year-old's interests to take in a loan spell in order to play regularly. "I want to be honest and Sahin is living in this grey zone because the market is open," Mourinho told Marca. "If the possibility arises for him to go to another place it would be better for him to leave and to be able to have more minutes on the pitch." Wrong But, speaking after Arsenal lost 2-0 to Manchester City in a pre-season friendly in China, Wenger denied he has added Sahin to his squad. Wenger, who has also been linked with Santi Cazorla, commented: "We did not sign anybody today, this report is wrong. We are not signing anybody at the moment - we are not close. In the future you never know." Regarding the future of captain Robin van Persie, Wenger added: "We could come back forever on Van Persie. We have our main strikers at home and Van Persie is one of them. But we have Podolski and Giroud who are at home, so we have plenty of strikers. "For us at the moment it is to prepare for the season - it is more than any individual player." [glow=red,2,300] Hope springs eternal.[/glow]

hmm if he is available the most probable destination would be Spurs as a part deal on loan/sale. If not can we please get him. give up on Moura, RvP or think about them later , just get this guy first it is what we really really need. Midfield Sorted out Thank You Very Much

Modric off to Real, Sahin off to Spurs.
That's my gut feeling, also i can't remember the last time we took a player on loan, well not at the moment, i've had a long week in work..! My head is mush..!! lol

its a pity that Sahin wants to stay at Real ,otherwise we could pay Real so that they could fund the transfer for Modric and well everybody's got what they need

Not Sure Jim, I remember us being linked with him before the transfer to RM and Fergie/Gill scouting or having watched him from some reports , but if you are referring to Fergie's " we don't need the rough tough tackler anymore" speech then a defo no.

His career has taken a nose dive since joining madrid, combination of injuries and a manager who doesn't rate him. Some players are happy just playing for madrid, theres a lot of bullshit about the club. This bollocks that you have to play for them to be considered a great, tell that to the maldini's of this world. Maybe he's genuinely happy.
