I always assumed Dany would turn evil from about S5 onwards, and by the end of S7 I figured it’d be an assault on Kings Landing. Once they mentioned the bells the specifics became clear. They’ve laid the groundwork for years and Dany fans wilfully ignored so much of what she said and did IMO.
I thought for ages it was the right move for the show. If you read the books, it was especially clear by the end of book 5. She basically says it herself.
I think it’ll go down as one of the all-time great character arcs. I’m just gutted about Jaime because that should have been on the same level too.

It is what it is, and I’m not bull s’ing. It’s all relative though, of course there’s stuff I didn’t get but compared to the earlier episodes when the left balls were being bowled left, right and centre ..... it’s predictable! Alright then smart arse what happens in the final episode if its so predictable? Rather get it in writing than giving it the whole "I knew that" after the fact. I reckon with the Saving Private Ryan montage they had with Arya trying to leave the city yet failing to save people's lives, then finally escaping after mounting the pale horse, they are setting her up to kill or at least attempt to do in the Mad Queen. I doubt they will finish the show with the despot ruler, but I can't figure out if Snow survives to take the throne or is there more to the Sansa stuff. She does have the riverlands and the North right now. Does she have designs on the throne? Maybe Snow has to kill the dragon, which would be mental in itself. As long as its alive they'll never be safe I reckon we might see Tyrion get executed. Because he released Jamie, passed the information on to Varys etc. Would not surprise me if he is the first to go. Or does Bron finish his arc somehow with him? The two showrunners already extended Brons character from the books because they love the actor, would not surprise me if they give him a final hurrah. Hopefully they give us something definitive with Bran. Seems like hes been pretty useless since the NK ate it. I know there are plenty of theories that he is the new NK. Not convinced by that myself. As long as fecking Sam Tarley doesn't end up on the throne 😂 |

It was always going to end this way, her whole life and the rebellion that destroyed her family was a lie and anyone she ever trusted or loved is dead. Honestly, I would probably have toasted the place also. Power corrupts but absolute power, absolutely corrupts. That reality and the best thing about GOT is the absence of happy endings. |

After the NK battle, there was no real threat to any main characters bar the Lannister's. But that'd been fairly well executed, IMO.

Please read my last post, my point was that earlier on no one could have guessed anything as it was a maze of twists and turns. I appreciate that story lines lead to conclusions and therefore clarify the tale, but was simply saying that I found that quite a bit was easy to predict as the scenes unfolded. |
