@ Jambi - they system is much close to the 3-5-2 with WB's bombing forward , not sure if we are moving ourselves to a particular style comfortable to a "future Would be( probably) Manager". i was thinking that too, but we've never played that system b4, and on a personal not i'm not too fond of that particular system either. either way, i'm just theorizing here, n putting it out there......

said it in the west ham match thread that we should give this formation a shot , esp with our wingers not in great form. I get why we'd go for Baines tho , he'd suit well for that formation.
But tactically ATM i don;t think we know how to use it.

agreed Karthy,
also, if this Lewa talk is accurate, where does this leave our forgotten 5th striker brought in last summer (henriques)?

+ Will Keane. After all the talk was that he was going to get in the first team of not for the injury and then henriques sale was hurried cos of the injury.

we don't need him. we've got 4 good strikers, one of Fergie's holy grails. he never talked about having 5 good strikers did he. the point about rooney having 3 goals in 14 games says a lot. how about instead of buying lewandowsi, we buy a center mid. r ooney plays back in his number 10 and starts scoring goals.Rooney has been playing well and van Persie and Chich have been scoring the goals so who cares?

yeah fuck it. if Waz semi retires at 27 and moves into a cushy number in midfield and the goals dry up who cares right?
good to see him back among the scorers yesterday. he's a striker. he's not a midfielder. yeah he played right and left and he was back in our half defending. but he scored twice and got a great assist for van Persie. that's what we pay him 200k a week for.

I like how you equate playing in midfield with "semi-retirement". No offence, but that's an, interesting, suggestion. I'd love you to say that to Roy Keane. Or better yet, go tell Finlay that wrestling's fake. Does it really matter who scores the goals if it isn't Rooney?

1. keane was a proper mid. rooney aint, and he's just not as effective in there as he is playing closer to the oppos box.
2. yeah i do care really, he's only 27 and he should be scoring. he's a number 10 and we pay him 200+k a week.
as great as rooneys flick for van Persie's goal was, half of them he attempts don't come off. same when he's doing a scholesy and hitting difficult passes. it's when he's doing his barca routine (and he's not the only one). if he could just swap the un-necessary stuff for a bit of urgency and directness at goal he'd be more dangerous. the flair/magic will happen on it's own without him forcing it

What the hell do wages have to do with it?
We pay a couple of our defenders an amount not far off 200k a week - should we be expecting them to score too?
I dont give a flying fuck if he scores 20+ or not a season, as has been said, if he lays on plenty more for others then that's fine. Plus we play a fucktonne better when hes in midfield than we do when hes not, and unless i have missed the scrapping of the transfer window allowing us to sign someone now, then he can fucking stay in midfield until such time as someone else comes in to replace him.

We have more than enough strikers so why are we bothering? Unless Lewandowski is our answer to stopping us leaking goals I dont see why were wasting our time with this shit.

Is he any good at heading away corners? Otherwise pointless as we don't need a target man.

We paid £ 24 million for Rooney, stop banging the £ 30 million drum. Although it's irrelevant, as what he cost us means fuck all in terms of where we play him.

great shout. cos his price tag is the only argument i put forward.
24mil. relative peanuts then.
when you see a post by me why don't you just ignore it since you are on the offensive 9 times out of 10 and it goes round and round in circles.
