it could be something like this ----------Strootman-------- Cleverley--------Ando---- -----------Kagawa---------- ---------Lewa - RVP------- No Valencia or Rooney? Best right winger in the league and the heartbeat of our team missing? That makes a lot of sense. Strootman is also a midfielder, we dont sign theses things so this line up wont happen mate.

Well this "rumour" doesn't make sense as we allready have too many attacking players that can't play at the same time. Someone would have to leave and probably formation to change....

While Rooney operating in the Middle means his Goal Threat would obviously reduce and also that's not the way to go about fixing our Mid Field Problems - i can't wrap my head around why so many either go for or want Rooney to leave - That is just shit crazy.
We seem to be miles better when he is playing( even when the overall play is bad) , the guy genuinely runs himself around to cover every inch of grass and be involved in every build up or clear up.
Unless we're going back to his "want to leave United" i don't think that selling him ( even swapping for Ronaldo) will help us. Next to him there isn't anyone with anger ,determination in the ranks.
I really hope that Lewa is more a decoy to someone else be it from Dortmund or otherwise. But seeing as this rumor isn't going away i really hope that it not be Rooney to be sold

Yes karthy, that's much better. A decoy! I like this theory. Hummels? Götze? A player in a position we actually need top class?

no decoy. we wont be getting a centerback or goetze. in fergies mind he will look at jones, evans, smalling and then look at wooton and keane, plenty of options in the vent vidic never fully recovers or rio leaves.

You've just pointed out his atributes Karthy, he scores goals, puts in a shift, etc. Stewart pointed it out yesterday, Rooney is the least of our problems at the moment. Selling Rooney is barmy.

The players you have mentioned are fully capable of and have given good performances. Us leaking goals doesn't neccesarily have to mean that we have to go and buy a CB. Its, IMO, more to do with Tactics and Rio/Evra not taking Responsibility. secondly, we seem to have gotten a cavalier approach to the whole thing , add to that the fact the GK's are for sure to be dropped for a single mistake ( whether they are or aren't responsible) for that but still expecting them to Be like Shmick's or VDS means that they start every game with their balls tied to cannon ball. Getting Goetze isn;t going to solve our problems unless players like Ando and Clevs ( shit as he may be to many) are played as we need players who can run Box - to - Box ( even if it be for only 70 mins) around "magic" play makers, otherwise we'd be a team playing 4-0-7 and kiss clean sheets good bye. Hummels is a good shout only if Rio doesn't renew his contract and Vida is never back to being the beast he was , other wise i'd put him off for one more season atleast.

Why Rooney? Hope this doesn't turn into another debate because hes lost it or because he didn't celebrate against Reading. Squad basis he is our best player and can turn a game on a head. I dont even want to entertain wanting or thinking about him going. Fergie could be looking at Nani going, moving Rooney to the left and putting Lewandowski up with RVP. Dont understand why Rooney to leave seems to be the only choice given that hes not being played as a striker anymore. Couldn't agree more Paul. If we have signed Lewandowski, why the emphasis on Rooney possibly departing? That puzzles me. Every other offensive player we have in the squad possibly going just isn't feasible?

Does piss me off with some fans as ive heard it off here aswell, of all the players that could go the other way no1 else has been mentioned,
The thing is Rooney hasnt said hes unhappy nor is he under performing, apart from the game against Everton and Westham hes been MOTM in 99% of the games, so why in the blue hell would we even consider it a posibility for him to leave. Chris pulled up on something and I think thats where a lot of ppl base this bollocks on n thats that he didnt celebrate against Reading (Not saying any1 on here is saying they want him to go but I have seen it in general, fuckin prawnies). That shit needs to be nipped in the bud instantly because it would be a fucking disaster. One player doesnt make a team but getting rid of arguably are best and most influenatial player would do more harm than good, unless it was for Ronaldo, possibly the only exception.
Heard today its on the brink of a 12m deal. I hope its nothing but rumours unless were looking at playing 10 up front.

I have always proffered Rooney playing in the hole, he plays his best stuff there as it allows him to be more involved and playing him behind VP and Lewa would be frightening.
It looks more and more likely that the diamond is here to stay, or at least a variation of.So that means tara to Nani, Young and possibly Valencia, though TV may be accommodated at RWB(our very own Roberto Carlos).

Can Lewandowski play in midfield? No hes a pure striker, he will hold up the ball for you, finish the supported play, and often find something out of noting.

Put it this way, technicalities and shifting players around aside, a trio of Rooney, RVP and Lewa would be absolutely devastating. The majority of clubs would dream of that and by the reaction of most ABU's most rival fans were trembling when the rumor started.

Well this one hasn't died off since summer. Its quite believable we showed some interest last summer if indeed it was true his contracts winding down. I would have though we'd have backed off as the closed in on RVP though.
