Sorry but this is a dick head comment everyone to their own but. the difference between RVP and Rooney concerning the incident is RVP would not stay with his club of 10 years for no amount of money, Rooney did, it might not have been the best way to go about it but RVP did exactly what Rooney did this season and before the start of last season demanding Wenger buy better players. What Ronnie did was 50x worse (im being treated like a slave) and everyone still sucks him. now look at his situation wanting to come back and like dick heads we will be there with open arms after he fucked us Blatter or Platini (cant remember which) said Ronnie was being treated like a slave, Ronnie didn't. - Also Ronnie didn't fuck us, everyone knew he wanted to goto Real and he gave us one more season and we got top money for him (then it was top money) fair play

sell Big Game Wayne? fuck that This X a 100 times please. IF lewa is to come ( Still rather we went for Reus/Hummels/Subotic) then i think we will look to a more fluid formation with Rooney/Kagawa dropping in the hole. Strangely , i do fell that we are( by the way we have played at times) looking to mimic Barca or the one-two touches to the goal and look to have multiple 9's instead of the false 9 to unhinge the oppo

It could just mean that they're dropping Rooney back for good and getting in another 4th striker, perhaps.

I think this is nailed on, especially with Bild reporting it which is the most reliable German newspaper / website. I think it means Rooney playing deeper but who's knows, still, it would be a brilliant signing.

If a signed Lewa means playing Rooney in the Scholes role, I'd be delighted. Force him to regain a lot of the natural abilities he seemed to have tempered in order to become a "better" out-and-out striker. Things like running at defenders and shooting with venom from range.

i find it a little strange, the sentiment that Wayne might be the one to be put out by this (potential) signing.
as mentioned by Ginger18 earlier, there is a little Mexican who saved our asses on Wednesday that would be keeping a keen eye on this move. if Lewa does come in, i cant see Hernandez wanting to stick around for long. Lewa coming in effectively puts Hernandez as 4th choice striker, a position that would be untenable for a player of his finishing ability. (and be under no illusion peeps, Midfield position or not, if either of Lewa or RVP goes down through injury, Wayne gets shunted up top again in a heartbeat!)

^ Thanks for the acknowledgement Jambit. I'd hate to see Chico leave. In fact I'm pretty sure I want his name on the back of my next United shirt (Hope I haven't jinxed it. Becks left soon after I bought one with his name and Berba left just when I was thinking of buying one with his).
You also make a very good point about Rooney's versatility. He has been shunted between both midfield and attack this season. I can see that pattern continuing given our embarrassment of riches up front.

Now that we have RvP I wouldn't mind us selling Rooney. I've never really forgiven him for the 'incident', but we've always been so dependent on him that selling him was never really a pleasant option. But if we could get decent money for him and use the proceeds to buy Lewandowski and a midfielder, I'd take it. What Ronnie did was 50x worse (im being treated like a slave) and everyone still sucks him. now look at his situation wanting to come back and like dick heads we will be there with open arms after he fucked us No, it's not a dick head comment in the slightest. I'm not saying we should sell him. But I'd seriously consider any big offer that came in for him. I'd rather we keep him, but I wouldn't be as upset to lose him as I would have been a few seasons ago. And you've just nailed it by comparing RvP to Rooney. Rooney did it to get more money, RvP left because he had ambitions Arsenal couldn't fulfill. He could have gone to City for more money, but wanted to come to us. Rooney question the club's ambition. OUR AMBITION FOR FUCKS SAKE!!! And in the process he made Fergie look weak by getting him to bend over for a player.

I don't think people are seriously considering that Wayne would be the one to move on. It was just thrown out there. But I just can't imagine Fergie would want to sell Hernandez. Welbeck? I doubt that too. If we do sell Welbeck I wouldn't be happy. The way we won the derby was down to Welback doing exactly what he offers more than our other strikers. He's not the greatest finisher, but he works hard up top. I'm not saying that our other strikers don't, just that it's more effective with Welbeck because he is so fast.

He honoured that and was fantastic for us. He went with our blessing. “My way of looking at it is that we were lucky to have him for six years and the United fans would share that.” Guess who? I'll help you out, it's a man some people refuse to question on many, many issues.

Instead of selling someone to make room, how about erm you know, not selling anyone and buying a fucking player we need rather than another luxury buy. Were leaking in goals, we could buy 10 strikers but if were leaking the goals then whats the point. Our back four is our main priority so surely it only makes sense to toughen that up first?
Get the players we NEED then focus on the ones we WANT.
Hummels Bale Lewa
In that order. Everyone loves seeing the goals going in, but come on were not exactly struggling for them as it is are we. Were averaging 2.5 goals a game and conceding 1.4 goals a game. You do the math.

I actually think if we played Carrick -- Cleverley with a settled back four behind them all the time, we wouldn't need a defensive player.
Bale should be our number one target in January/the summer, provided of course Ronaldo isn't coming. Fuck it, even if we do manage to somehow get Ronaldo back, I'd love to see Bale in a United shirt.

This deal is apparently 90% done. Don't get me wrong hes a quality player and will no doubt get amongst the goals, but I don't see where hes gonna fit in. Even if Rooney sits in midfield that means Clevs or Kagawa will miss out,
I dont want us to get rid of any striker that we have now, other than Macheda but that goes without saying. We need to play with wingers so unless Kagawa goes onto one of the wings then its pointless. If cleverley carries on the way he is hell be our first choice central Mid, Followed by Kagawa with Valencia on the right and Nani or Young on the left (obv if Nani doesnt go in Jan) Leaving Rooney and RVP up front.
You cant please some people, Rooney is scoring now hes up with RVP but as soon as he drops back his goal tally will drop as well and people will moan again that they want to see more goals from him.
