I'd be surprized mainly because of the cash we'd have to flog to get him here.

Maybe though, a deal involving some incentive-based payments could work. We seem to be pretty astute with those. I mean, Chelsea had a bid of 40 million Euros turned down for the kid, United though, are different class in terms of allure and the way we conduct our business. I wonder if it's true that we flew out a delegation?

Here's some of the quotes when Chelsea bid for him:

Chelsea have had a £32.4million offer for Brazil midfielder Lucas Moura rejected according to Sao Paulo president Juvenal Juvenico.

Moura, 19, has grabbed the attention of Europe's biggest clubs after establishing himself as one of Brazil's most promising young players.

The attacking midfielder has already won 11 caps for his country and Juvenico warned only an "enormous offer" will prise him away.

Juvenico claimed a bid of £20.2million from Inter Milan had also already been declined while Real Madrid had made contact to underline the interest.

But after Chelsea's big-money offer Juvenico believes the newly-crowned European champions are leading the race for Moura.

"We did not accept the offer but of course Chelsea is the closest to signing Lucas," he told Italian website www.fcinter1908.com.

"Inter made an offer of £20.2 million, but this was not considered sufficient by us.

"Real Madrid is one of these other interested clubs - there has been contact with the president Florentino Perez, who admires the player.

"Lucas is a big player who will triumph in Europe, but Sao Paulo will only sell him for an enormous offer."

Asked what Chelsea's bid was, he added: "40million euros.

"They say no man is an island, but I know what I saw out there. Islandman is real."

About 2 mins 50 seconds in, I had been enjoying the skills - they made me smile - but he hadn't scored or gotten any assists really. . . Then shit got real.

Rene, Hazard chose Chelsea though, as they would pay his agent's fees etc.

We're still much more of an attraction to football purists and people who know the game and it's history compared to the Renties I think. Especially Brazilians. At least, that's the kinda world I'd like to live in, haha.

Hmm I seem to think Hazard chose Chelsea because they won the Champions League, we can talk about agents fees until we're blue in the face but if we were as astute as mentioned we'd have worked something out.

I find it hard to believe we're actually going to sign any sort of world class player, experienced or potentially.

City pulled out of the Hazard deal because they didnt want to pay the daft fee the agent wanted - chelsea did. 6mill i think it was.

Nasri used a similar line when he went to city. I'm sure the extra money they paid his agent had nothing to do with it.
