Ah yes, PSG "project". The now universally acceptable synonym for PSG's "money".

Prefer knowing he was close to signing for us, because it then took PSG to pay more money than us to get him.... which tells us what this was all about, money. Otherwise they could have paid the same amount as us.

Otherwise they could have paid the same amount as us. It doesnt matter how close we were to signing him, he chose them so its obvious money was the main factor. No person in their right mind would choose the French league over the premier league. Ive said too many times to mention that were not signing him nor are we going to. The money factor was too ridiculous. A 19 year old unproven footballer that cant even hold a starting place in his Olympic team is worth £35m plus? Not a hope in blue hell. Im glad we haven't signed him. I'm not doubting his ability but anyone that chooses money over the badge can simply fuck off I don't care who he is. Weve spent way too much time fart arsing about trying to get one player that I honestly think was never going to sign for us and could possibly lose out on signing someone else. Fuck waiting for the Olympics to finish to sign someone. There are players that are on fucking holiday now that we could easily sign. Get RVP and Erikksen in.

Paul, i alluded to it yesterday.
We would never have entertained spending a hefty transfer fee on the kid, while shelling money out to his agent and extended family also.
Never going to happen, we wouldn't have touched that aspect of the deal with a 10 foot barge pole.

Gone are the days of playing for the badge and gaining success, its all about the money now (this has been proved with the youngsters weve lost as well, im not buying into this agent fault BS they are their own player and have enough sense to realise a smart choice).
You will get a very small portion of players and I mean 1 in every 1000 i.e Valencia, Kagawa that will be the other way around. With the likes of Chelsea, City and now PSG fantasy footballing these players its going to boil down to who can offer the better deal and not about the football side of things. This is why we have been pretty poor in the transfer market over the past few seasons, and it will continue this way until the fair play agreement comes into place. Even then im sure these mega rich oil tycoons will find a loophole to get around spending 150m in a transfer market just like city did with their "united" stadium.

Now? Who was right about this one again? Oh yeah, THE TRANSFER REALIST.

He doesn't support united, so the fact they paid that money and he's probably paid more than half our squad makes them very attractive despite the quality of the league.

Just reading through the last few pages of this thread makes me wonder if this is what RAWK would've sounded like in the mid 90's.
