Looked pony playing for Brazil by most accounts. May turn out to be as good as Keirrison. Pass. Cannot even get in to Olympic team ahead of Hulk. Expensive bullet dodged.

Looking at this in a realistic way, Leonardo is Director of Sport at PSG and Ronaldinho used to play for them, so I guess it's fair enough. Rafael already expressed his sadness when seeing Oscar sign for Chelsea and now he lost a potential right wing partner in Lucas Moura. Feel the most sorry for him. And the second most sorry for Ferguson. This isn't good PR, but I guess it more or less confirms our signing of RvP. Breaking News: PSG's excellent scouting network has identified Robin Van Persie as the clubs next target. They are willing to wait until next summer, when his contract expires, but they will still give Arsenal £200 million for him. A PSG spokesman said that the player had been identified by Sir Ale ...er...their chief scout.

what's wrong with that exactly? He has showed no ambition. He couldn't have sorted his family out with a salary plus benefits at United? Greedy cunt, him and his agent. Enjoy the buzz of the French League with a club that will replace you next season with another multi million purchase. lolz.... if someone living in shit ass Brazil had the choice to go somewhere to play football and have him family paid for out of someone else's pocket, why shouldn't he? my god - people in other countries don't actually see United as the be all and end all of teams, if a united bid comes in they dont say "well fuck me, its Manchester United, 40k a week? nope, ill take £10 and a mars bar". how the reactions have gone from "ZOMG BEST YOUNG PLAYER WE NEEEED" to "what a cunt" is astounding. It's irreverent if he could of come here or not, our bid wasn't accepted and PSG's was.... should he have said, "well ill wait for another United bid?" .........

Thanks Carbon. Well said. I hate the way fans turn on a player on a dime.
"yay, we're in for Moura - fantastic player. Could be a true star"
"fuck, PSG have bought him. Glad, really, he is shite and too expensive"
All we should be doing is assembling a team of trained assassins to pay a visit to any football club owner than has more than £500 million in personal wealth.

my stance from the off was not interested in this player, not excited by the prospect of getting him, so now not arsed he's going PSG.

MAybe I'm being naive, but I truly hope FFP is effective. This is the first transfer window that will be taken into account - I have no idea what PSG are planning to do. I just hope that, when push comes to shove, UEFA have the cajones to ban clubs from European competition.
But I have a sneaking suspicion that their splurges will be 'justified' somehow.

one further thing to note with this.
We negotiate for one month plus = no deal PSG negotiate for less than one week = Deal
i know the feeling is for the most part down among the faithful, but seriously this makes no sense. $$$ is obviously no object for PSG, but less than one week? and that includes negotiations for personal terms. so im to believe the negs. went as such:
PSG: whats the price? SP: 35 mil cash, not including the players part. PSG: Done, Personal terms? Maura Agent: 45K a week, a house on the river for the fam, 6 mil for me, and a bucket of chicken wings. PSG: Done. when do u want to start work? Maura & SP: January would be ok. PSG: Done.
Im sorry, but this leaves me with a lot of questions. i must say FFP is looking like a JOKE right now, and all of this in Platini's back yard.
edit: that 6 mil highlighted above, well that turns out to be more like 12.9 mil to the agent/family.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that Lucas is greedy. Its more to do with the fact that we didn't bid enough, PSG did and thats that.

FFP will be a massive joke to all the clubs who can afford to bribe the top brass at UEFA / FIFA, the other clubs will be fucked.

That's how I'm seeing it too. The reason our negotiations took so long was simply because Sao Paolo quite understandably wanted PSG and the rest of their ilk to come in too. They got exactly what they wanted.

While I am disappointed at not getting Hazard and Moura, I wouldn't want us paying ridiculous amounts in transfer and agent fees, then giving these youngsters massively inflated salaries. PSG, Man City, Chelsea are all owned by rich, egomaniacal cunts who want to say they've got the biggest cock. I for one am glad that we don't throw stupid money around, even though it means us missing out on transfer targets.

the way i see it, the lure of the bigger money and 'instant success' of the likes of city and PSG acts like a filter to weed out the players whose motives aren't based on football. [that's not to say we shouldn't pay big money and wages where it is due.] call it idealist or whatever, might be some truth in that. but it's a myth to suggest that no top player puts his football and career first, or values the prestige of a clubs tradition and history etc. that's the player i want, not the merc.
at the same time carbo makes a good point - this moura kid is prob from the slums in brazil. going to live in paris and play for PSG might be the right move for him, he might feel that playing for PSG is a big enough challenge for him for now. we can only speculate
