Kagawa and powell will not be enough to close gaps that have opend up between ourselves and our main rivals both at home and abroad. I would love to see us sign RVP. Dont give a shite about lucas moura to be honest. A true world class CM is going to be overlooked again I fear. We could give spurs berbatov and ask for sandro in part exchange??

kagawa in the right formation will do a job, powell will help out when called on, but we dont have what we need. powell, giggs, scholes, carrick, anderson, cleverley, unless we are going 433 that is too much considering we usually have 4. personally i dont the quality is that great either. whilst i believe that with games cleverley and powell will do really well my concern is the back up for carrick also evra. its nice being linked with the rvp and moura's but we dont need them. we all know what we need, i'm tired of smoke screens can we just wrap this up. the most pressing need is getting rid of some players berba as he wont get games and if he goes on a free then really that has to be bad business, one season where he did well and even in that season people will question him. anderson is talking the talk but if we can get a good wedge i'd let him go. as great as they were i really wish giggs and scholes did not sign new deals, if they didnt i truly believe we would all be saying what a great transfer market! fergie would get what is needed.

So, assuming we get Moura and Van Persie, I'd rate this as our best Summer since 98, when we signed Stam, Blomqvist and Yorke. If after City winning the league, someone said we'd sign one of the best youngsters in this country, one of the most accomplished midfielders in Europe last season, on the relative cheap. One of the best young players in the world and last seasons top goal scorer. You'd be over the moon with that. Admittedly the two areas that need strengthening, Midfield and Left Back haven't been fully addressed, but I guess we'll look at that next year. And now, back to reality... What if we only sign Kagawa and Powell? Under whelming. But that, depressingly is par for the course with us since Moscow.

i reckon powell might make a bigger impact than cleverley over the next one or two seasons - IF he can continue to score goals.
and kagawa is a great signing who will make everyone around him play better, score and make goals.
not an ideal summer if that's all but i really think kagawa puts us on another level.

I'm not saying these are bad buys, far from it. But from having concrete interest in Hazard, Moura, RVP and Sahin, if it were to finish with just these two signings as our major Summer deals, it's massively underwhelming.

So far we're 50/50 on securing our targets.
Kagawa and Powell are on board, while we look set to lose out of RvP and Lucas Moura.
I guess one could be reasonably content with that.

not content as whilst we have added more creativity we have left the leftback spot weaker and the center is still iffy.

I'm really angry that we allowed Fabio to go out on loan without having genuine cover for Evra (specially with Fryers away)
I'm delighted with the Kagawa purchase, I think thats a genuine bit of lovely business

rate the overall transfer window? ? FROM OUR POINT OF VEIW!!! A LOAD OF SHIT AS WE HAVE SAT THERE AND WATCHED MINT PLAYERS GO TO OUR BIGGEST RIVALS YET WE BUY AN UNTRIED TEENAGER FROM CREWE. KAGAWA FROM DORTMUND ( WHO IS NOT BAD EITHER) BUT APART FROM THAT WE DO NOTHING WHICH SENDS OUT AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO OUR RIVALS '' YEP YOU CAN STRENGTHEN AND WE WILL JUST SIT HERE AND DO FUCK ALL ABOUT IT '' bring on next year when the likes of shity, chavs, real madrid are gonna fucked when the the financial fair play comes in cos i will be laughing when they are booted out of europe and have transfer embargos placed on them for spending more that their incomes. united and arsenal are laughing all the way to the bank on this one.

I'd tend to agree with Tatty. I think Kagawa is going to be great for us, it's evident from the way he's played for us so far and from his time in Dortmund. Been watching Nick Powell, i think he's a better player than i initially thought, he's clearly talented and he's going to get better. Tatty's right it's going to be underwhelming and a bit of a disappointment if these two are the only players we bring in.

Its more disappointing because we secure a deal with GM that gives us a fortune, and we're told we'll spend £40 mill net on transfers......then nothing happens

If these are our only two signings its ,definitely disappointing and there has been a lot of money flowing in but its going to the debt payments and glazers pockets .The premiere league will be no cakewalk { chelshit and arssena improvingl}and europe will certainly be interesting.

Who's told us we're spending £40 mill net on transfers? This is from ESPN: Manchester United expect to spend £40 million in the summer transfer window, according to the club's Chief Operating Officer Michael Bolingbroke. Speaking at an investor roadshow ahead of the club's IPO, Bolingbroke said that United's net spend over the last 10-15 years had averaged out at between £20-25 million but added: "We are giving guidance at the moment that the current transfer period could result in net expenditure nearer £40 million." soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1129352/man-utd-chief-michael-bolingbroke-expects-to-spend-L40m?cc=5739#Also with the GM deal - Manchester United said annual revenue from the Chevrolet shirt sponsorship agreement would be $70m in the first season, rising 2.1 per cent a year until it ends in the 2020-21 season. In addition, it will receive about $18.6m in fees from GM in each of the 2012-13 season and 2013-14 season under the terms of our new shirt sponsorship agreement.
